@BadDo9 | @High_Adept_Zeth "I will not disappoint Aeris." Kairiel said with determination and a bit of relief that Ananius had been freed, a mix of fear and adrenaline rushing through him as the alcohol dissipated almost completely. He clenched the pistol in his hand tightly, aiming it at the smoke. "We will get to the communication center and end this. I must do this. If not for the crew, then at least for myself." The Tau added, gritting his teeth and aiming at what he believed the enemy to be - looking away at the last moment before pulling the trigger, his pacifistic side struggling with his aggressive one, creating a weird hybrid.
As disgusting witch choked him with its damnable magic, Vex`s eyes widened as he realized the folly of his words. The mercs that fought with them just until now, trained their guns on the helpless scavanger and prepared to fire, at their victim`s behest! If the invisible tendril was not smothering the air from his throat so viciously, Ananius would definetly appreciate the irony of it. Luckily, Markus was there when he needed him, and as gulps of air, gratitude and relief flooded him, Vex made a mental note to particulary thank Kairel for buying the Cadian. Now, he would have to get one too! His vision swiming, but at least shadows at the edge of his vision dispelled, he stood up with Markus`s help. Hearing the Cadian inclined to withdraw, Vex tended to agree. Run? Runing is good. It assures that you live - more so then staying. With Markus`s hand under his own, Vex turned his head to the Tau about to shout to start running or start dying, but a sight of Jerry levitating in the corner of the chamber, its generators buzzing - as if forgotten in the entire fight, almost broke his heart.. That, and his entire salvage was in it. With new found courage and tactical focus, he braced against Markus as the later offered him support to merely stand, Vex revealed under his ragged sleeves of his tunic, his macrostubber graft. "Fudge that! This thing stinks and it wont let us get away so easily. If it can melt bulkhead doors, i dont think running is the problem for it!" Following the traces of fire loosed by Kairel from its pistol, the blue streaks zapping into the smoke that was the foul mutant, Vex added his own kinetic laced fury made leaden rain. A blunt staccato of rapid fire hammered from the graft at his right forearm - being pullued closer to it by the witch itself had its advantages now.
Varl was not one to risk himself needlessly. He was surprised by the turn of events for a microsecond before his survival instincts, finely honed by the time he'd spent living in Commorragh, He grabbed Shriek by her nearest appendage and got running. Being one of the True Eldar his turn of speed was impressive. But there was clearly no time to mess about. He turned and snapped a shot over his shoulder, more in hopes of distracting any pursuit than necessarily hitting anything.
"Alright you sorry lot, you want more to murder and rob come with Goramor and his fellows to the motor pool! Captain's orders." Goramor spoke loudly in an announcing fashion, wiping brain matter off his armor originating from a nearby exploded head. He clicked and stretched his joints and muscles, also trying to ease the back pain he got. Getting pumped and ready for the next fight. "Saven, how does it look? Do I still look amazing, is it going to leave a mark?" Goramor asked while trying to look at the gash at his back. @Maleth
Saven made a mental note about how the foes on the station seemed to have their heads blow off whenever they were killed, and she was of the view it was likely something to do with ‘motivation’ in the Imperial style of that term.... But then Goramor needed her attention, and that was more important than musing on what was going on. So the Spyrer looked at the wound on Goramor's back and said ( @Wata ) "Well, if you ask me that gash is looking like it's going to heal just fine without leaving and yes, you are still looking amazing." She was no medicae, but she was sure that the wound would heal alright, and she certainly hoped so given her feelings for the snake man.
@BadDo9 @Jorimel Shriek had been blasted back, and tumbled onto her back, she lied there for a couple of seconds while Varl grabbed her leg and began pulling her away. She raised a hand and quickly used it to get to her feet, to start retreating too. "Psyker filth" She frowned, her blade still humming before sliding into its sheeth on her arm. "Never fighting in ways you prefer." She stops by a intersection, which allows her to take cover, while she looks after the captain. she knows it is foolish to run ahead to guard her now. She clears her throat "Miss, come on now!"
Bluetoof growled and howled as the power of weird gitz , the screams of the other umie and just general irratation. "DATZ ENUFF YA GITZ" bluetoof bellowed as he pulled his plasma gun out and began firing in what he thought was the general direction of the hostile psykerx plasma streaking through the air
< @High_Adept_Zeth @Uriel1339 > "Brave, loyal, or stupid, I can't fault you." Markus said with a small smile at both Vex and Kairiel, opening his revolver and placing a few rounds in it. It seemed to be more powerful than a normal stub weapon, so perhaps it had been modified. However this would not be of interest for now as they had a psyker to kill. He aimed up and released his fire just as the other two allowed their weapons to roar. The psyker had thrown up a shield to protect itself but something had been miscalculated. Kai's shot was able to break the shield which sent rounds flying directly into his body. He growled and fell to his knees, glaring up at the trio that had brought him down. "Damn you to the eye of terror." he snarled, before vaporizing into thin air. After they would take time to recover and head into the communication room, they would have to cover their nose from the sickening stench that was in the room. A few corpses rotted to bone, and it seemed the majority of the gear had actually been melted - more than likely thanks to that same psyker. In any case, vex would be able to fix up the inter-station communication, at which point the Tau could finish his mission. In addition, Vex would have found a very interesting piece of scrap on the computers. If he would pull it off, their own squad comms would be un-scrambled. < @Tamu @Wata @Maleth > Goramor's call would rouse and gather up the rest of the troops that were in the mess hall. Around 10 soldiers with autoguns, five more with other weapons and an Eldar which held a single sword. They would be ready to move once the captain's close would give the word. And once they moved, they would find little to no resistance as they strode towards the heavy elevator which would carry them down to the motor pool. Each and every one of them could fit with room to spare, and while it slowly lowered them down into the room, they would all get a growing sense of foreboding. The reason for which would soon become clear - instead of vehicles, the hangar was instead filled with hundreds of stasis pods. And when checked, every single one of them was filled with a human, some with mutations. Unfortunately, before anyone could work out what to do, a wounded psyker, bleeding from a number of wounds, appeared and began to glow with a sickly aura as those same wounds began to seal themselves. It wasn't until a moment later when he looked around and noticed that the sanctuary had been breached, and a heavy number of guns was pointed at him. He didn't even get to say a word before he was killed, being ripped apart by the sheer volume of fire. < @Jorimel @Casavay @Wincent > Aeris kept her fire up on the enemy until Shriek was away, and then turned tail to run. She didn't get where she was now by staying and fighting a losing battle. Though - after she got to Shriek and turned herself around, the enemy would be gone. She didn't like this, not one bit. Carefully she pulled out her sword and stepped forwards, keeping her blade at the ready while she crept up towards the bridge, and put a hand to her ear. "Can anyone hear me? Anyone? Someone tell me the fuck is going on!" she called into the comms, scowling a little as this was not supposed to happen. < @TuskatheDaemonKilla @bossaroo @Vulpas > A number of things would happen at once. First, Malrak would be let to the floor when the barrier was shifted to block the plasma coming from the Ork. Next, Malrak would look up and breath fire upon the woman. And finally, she seemed to simply disappear in the swath of flames. After Felena would get her senses back and Bluetoof was able to totally shake off the suggestion, they could move into the security room. Oddly, there was little to be found other than the computers and consoles one would expect. They could monitor the station - which showed most rooms were filled with dead and blood. Blast doors were open, everything was running as if the situation was normal. One thing of note would be there seemed to be no way to see into the motor pool - as one screen was filled with nothing but static. Bluetoof could, however attempt to bypass some protocols and then activate the station defenses, which could possibly make them see Aeris' crew as allies and thus attack their enemies as it's own.
"A bit of all three?! How do you think i got here in the first place?" he replied to Markus with a breath of exhaustion, still strugling to catch air. As the psyker dissappeared he questioned with a puzzled frown: "Did we kill it?" before crashing to the floor in a sitting position and undertaking the labours and lenghtly job of reloading his weapon at the forearm. He looked upwards at Markus and his weapon, before nodding to the man. I owe it to him now, he thought as he looked at the melted corpses of the three mercs, a lot. Glancing at the Tau and then at grav-container behind him, Vex stood up scavanging what he could that was not liquid goo, making sure to check if the disabled Tarantula was looted entirely. As they entered the communications array, the stench hitted him hard. He knew the stench of the dead or dying, even those liquified by plasma weaponry, and this was not it. This was simply...wrong. Pulling his gas-mask over him, tightening the seals, wincing in pain where they touched his neck that was still raw from previous encounter, he took note of everything in the room with an experienced eye that was hungry with anything. @Uriel1339 Inspecting the cogitators he noticed a piece of electronics attached to it. "Just a second." he said with a restraining palm toward the Tau. Booby-traped? Wired to fry itself? An alarm? He did not know a whole lot about advanced machinery, but this thing looked out of place. Lying down on the floor, he got beneath the data-bank console and detached the device with care, turning it in his hand. "Seems like a jammer." he added and as on a cue, the static on his vox-bead was replaced with myriad of voices from a dozen of channels. Standing up he tossed the piece of crap in Jerry, before giving a sympathetic tap on the container that buzzed so quietly next to him, noticing the scorch marks on its hull. Inspecting the room, he took position at the door nervously glancing down the hallway for more witches out of nightmare. "Check on the boss too. Hopefully they were spared of the nightmares." he added to Kairel. Of course, not out of care or consideration toward Aeris or the others. But if she went for the greener pasture, or wherever her kind went, it would be a pain to find a good employer for more work.
@High_Adept_Zeth & @BadDo9 Kairiel panted and his stomach was already hit by the sudden drain of the alcohol and attack of that... Thing. So the moment he stepped into the communications room he bent over and puked for a good few minutes, emptying his bowels orally. Once he stopped and the purple goo stopped coming out of him, he wiped it off with the back of his hand, not having tissues at hand, and tried his best to resist the further stench. Although every here and now he would gag, especially when looking at the corpses which looked like they had been laying around for years. He wasn't entirely sure what was going on or what had happened, everything being kind of a haze as his hands and legs shook. He took a chair in front of the communications console, grabbing the microphone but not quite activating it. Vex had long went to guard the entrance. "I... I can't do it..." He said, shaking his head, spitting some more contents of his stomach up. "I, I don't even... Know where to start... Look at these people! Look at what that mutant, void monster, alien thing did!" He pointed at the various corpses. "How would anyone even care what I have to say facing such nightmare?! We should just get our things and run. Live to fight another day. If anything I should order a retreat on behest of the Captain!" Kairiel yelled in fear, fighting tears and his conundrum of multiple emotions. Anger, helplessness, frustration, disappointment, sadness. It was too much for the supposedly kind-hearted Water Caste member.
