Meeting moderate success, he almost soiled himself as the psyker attacked him. In part he knew he made a mistaken, prehaps a last one - considering that one of the unspoken rules of survival is to keep your head down and be as unnoticable as possible.

As the invisible walls of force threatened to crush his windpipe, the unknown of it sending shivers of terror down his spine, Vex twitched and jerked this way and that, one moment attempting to bring his wrist pistol to bear, another attempting to seize the aetheric grasp around his neck. Choking, his eyes buldging, he noticed the mercs standing and looking at him. Angered at their inaction, he gestured with his eyes at the psyker:

    "What...are you....waiting....for? Fire!"

The Tau groaned as he got dragged up. He didn't say anything to Markus, giving him merely a nod of appreciation as he was in an awkward state of panic, drunkenness and adrenaline rush. He aimed directly at the man who made others rust and decay - still not exactly sure what kind of technology he was utilizing.

"Let my friends be!" Kairiel roared in low gothic, using both hands on his pistol in order to hopefully enhance the effect of his shots, aiming for the chest - not noticing yet that the other mercenaries had aimed their weapons on Vex as he went into full tunnel vision, only seeing the most important right now. He would never really fire his pistol against anything, but there was a sub-conscious thought of fear. Not of the man he was trying to shoot per se - but more the presence of a looming doom, a prime evil, something that shook him in his insides and made his whole body tremble. And his instincts were forcing him to attempt to remove said evil.

That ... scent. It was an unholy shiver on the skin, a touch of prime evil. The energy of the untamed warp, the last and only taboo of the Dark City. Varl's fine features wrinkled in distaste. The ancient Haemonculus did not have any love for unrestrained psykers. They were trouble. The problem was further complicated by a growing stench, very actual this time. There were corpses littered everywhere, like the aftermath of an Archon's displeasure (or pleasure). The rotting, however, was unwholesome. So was the chance of being struck by a bolt of lightning, as the Captain dodged swiftly to one side.

Treleskan took up cover behind the frame of the door, sighting along the barrel of his hexrifle. He was not a combat specialist, but a Commorrite who could not fight was a dead Commorrite. If the opportunity presented itself, he would take that shot.

Goramor looked at Saven's direction, seeing her wounded and hearing her suggestion.
"Bah!" He scoffed and swung his melee weapons in a deadly arc at his enemy.
A complete waste of time, this was if they weren't going to see the fight through.
Nevertheless, he started a fighting retreat toward Saven, doing as his side of the team insisted.
  5. Shriek dodged the lightning, and was already on the move. Her blade out, humming agressivly as she darts forwards towards the sorcerer. She knows the dangers of a psyker, and isn't going to let him have time to do anything dangerous. She takes a great leap, attempting to slice towards the wrinkled face, aiming for whatever weak point was visible in that area. Cold, efficent and quick. Shriek had been made to guard and kill... and she wasn't holding back this time.

Searus had an annoyed look on her face as one of her utility mecha tendrils was temporarily put out of commission. This would bring down her efficiency and that was unacceptable but not as unacceptable as her mecha tendril being damaged in the first place. The fool who had damaged her equipment would pay with its life. With that in mind searus quickly zeroed in on the three offenders charging at her like barbarians and let loose with a full auto burst of her ballistic mecha tendril and a low sweep of her axe. If they managed to avoid the shells, then they would be hit by her axe and if they tried to dodge her axe then they would be hit by the shells.

Felana was on the ground her hands keeping her up and her one knee on the ground keeping her up was her chainsword that was in her hands, She had not expected such a psychic attack or aura to pin her like this getting her senses togther she hear Malraks voice and already began contemplating on what to do, Deciding to play thing a little safe she decided to attempt to see if she could stun em, 'Get ready for a flash' She thought in her mind hoping Malrak would hear it before she went to her belt. "Ready your eyes for a bang." She whispered out to Malrak before gripping her flash greande and takking off the pin and throwing it towards the hostile psyker. Getting herself back up she went on the defence aiming to protect them Malrak and herself again.

Aeris got into cover on the opposite side of the door of Varl, grabbing Lach and holding the navigator behind her. "Shriek, no we gotta-" she tried to call, but it was too late. One of Shriek's metal arms bounced off a psychic shield that was put up between her and the psyker, and then a blast of lightning shattered into her torso, sending her flying back into the hallway and landing flat on her back. "Damnit, Varl we need to get back, we need to go! Run!" she told the Haemonculous, sending him and Lach off, hoping they would pick up Shriek while she herself laid down some covering fire with her pistol.

Bluetoof had gotten his brains scrambled a little by the psychic wave and was unable to move, whereas is seemed Felena was able to get up and even toss a flash grenade at the enemy. Unfortunately her mind-whisper hadn't gone unnoticed, and the grenade was caught in midair, the flash and bang directed only to Felena, blinding and defening her for a good while. At the same time, Malrak got crushed closer into the wall, where the enemy psyker stared into his eyes.

"Come now. Perhaps the others will even let you keep that female as a pet, rather than killing her." came the voice once more, a suggestion starting to worm its way into Malrak's head, a psychic order to attempt to make him submit to her.

Goramor's weapons would connect with the Rak' Gol, severing one arm and half of his body, as well as a pair of legs. It howled in pain and defiance, giving the Sslyth a final slash deep across his back before it fell, and it's head exploded. In fact, as he and Saven ran they would notice that every single enemy who dies would end up with a head or neck destroyed or badly mangled in an explosion.

Meanwhile, Searus would rip one of her opponents apart with shots, a second getting bisected by her axe. The third had somehow survived with half an arm lopped off. That isn't to say that he lived, as his head was soon blown off by a shotgun blast from the nearby soldier.

After a few more moments, everyone who was left alive in the room alongside Goramor, Saven and Searus would be those in Aeris' employ. This gave them a chance to regroup and perhaps even recruit some other troops before getting to the motor pool. The Lacrymole first mate was moving over the corpses, searching for good gear.

The mercs that had their weapons trained on Vex sighted in on him, taking his order to fire as a call to kill him - given their 'altered' state. However before the killing shot could show up, Markus pulled out a heavy stub revolver and slammed a round into each of their heads, and then unloaded the final three into the psyker, taking enough of her attention for the tendril around Vex's neck to dissipate.

"This is bad. Kairiel, can you run?" the Cadian asked as he looked at the Tau. "Cause we need to." he pulled something off his belt and tossed it at the psyker, a plume of smoke exploding into the air as Markus pulled Kai over to Vex and helped the scavenger up. "C'mon, this is much too dangerous." he growled, thinking of a few good words for the captain once they got back - if they got back.

"OHHHH SWEET GODS AND DAEMONS ALIKE MY EYES!" Felana roared in pain blinded from the light of the flash bieng directed slowly at her she was blinded unlike what felt like anytime before panic ensued her mind as deafening silence took hold. Felena gripped her chainsword it falling to the floor and herself twirling it on the ground trying to see if anything was near her the chain function off but now partially she was trying to get her bounds.
  10. "Felana is not a pet." Malrak spat at the other psyker despite his vulnerable condition. Felana's attempt at assistance had failed but he couldn't blame her, the entire situation was not in their favor. He can feel the sorceress trying to make him submit but he did his best to resister her. He breathed in deeply and upon exhaling he unleashed a torrent of daemonic fire at the Sorceress.
