  1. "And I make ravens." Malrak found himself blurting out after the Haemonculus talked about himself. He wasn't entirely sure what he engaged in what he saw as pointless banter. Perhaps boredom saw him wanting to socialize or some other reason unknown to him.

"Spyrer gear is self sufficient, so while a kind offer, you don't need to get us anything." Saven replied to Kairiel, glad to move away from the topic of her homeworld. "Our equipment is self-repairing, and the more we use it, the better it gets, isn't that right sis?" she nudged her sister (@Keidivh ) in the ribs with a grin on her face, hoping to have her speak more in the conversation.

"So I see," said the Haemonculus to Malrak. "I must admit, I am not familiar with your methods, but the results are effective."

As she and her sister spoke with the Tau, Arissa noticed out of the corner of her eye an interesting looking woman sneaking up behind him. She looked, well not sickly, but she didn't exactly look healthy either. Like her skin had not been kissed by the sun in far to long. Her actions elicited a smile from the Spyrer however as she swung an arm around the Kairel, throwing him off for a moment.

"Phaha, I think I'm going to like you Lachesis, name's Arissa. Look forward to causing some mayhem with ya! So you're one of those Navigator lot then? You fly the ship around with your mind? That must be bloody amazing! What's it like?" While some held reservations and fears of those touched with the Warp, Arissa often found them to be an interesting and eccentric lot. @Casavay

She then noticed that the girl covered in tech join them, and gave her a cheerful greetings. Huh, I didn't know they could sound cheerful? Figured they'd make beeping noises or something. Giving a bright smile, Arissa took the girls hand, giving it a warm shake. "Greetings, aren't you just the most cheerful thing? Name's Arissa, pleasure to meet you Miss..." Letting her sentence fall off, trusting the robed woman gave her name. Hmm, wonder if they keep the woman and man bits? @Tamu

Turning her attention back to the conversation with the Tau and her sister, her cheerful demeanor fell when they brought up the fall of Therissia, and the Imperium's hand in it. (Son's of bitches, condemning an entire world to death cause of a few fucking pleasure cults? Frack them, and frack the Emperor...) She hissed out in High Gothic, something most here would likely have trouble understanding, save for Saven.

The topic turned away from the subject quickly thankfully and on to a more pleasant one, namely her gear. It was sweet of the Tau to offer to get supplies for their equipment, but as her sister pointed out, it was unneeded. "Right you are dearest sister! Completely self-sustaining. Hell, we don't even need to eat or drink in these things! Provides all the nutrients we need directly. Course that's not the fun part about them." Holding her hand open a mono-dagger seemed to form straight out of the armor and placing itself in her hand.

    "See what I mean?"

Aeris had grinned a little as she saw the crew, both old and new, starting to interact and build bonds that would undoubtedly serve them well in their travels. Because unlike other captains, she demanded some amount of inter-personal respect and discipline from her crew beyond don't F with the captain. Although eventually the poultry wing she had been eating was finished, and her drink of brew from Bluetoof was drank, so she stood up and looked over the crew. "Alright then, time to get to work!" she clapped in excitement, a number of drones and servitors coming from the hall.

"One of each of these will show you all to your rooms, make yourselves at home and then come down to the bridge once the jump is complete." she winked and then allowed them all to follow their drone.

Arissa and Saven would be brought to a double-room with two beds and decent enough looks for nobles. As well, Arissa's loot and Saven's 'stash' would be found in one of each of the two dressers, and there were even two areas for their hunter rigs to be removed and stowed when wanted.

Haemonculus Varl would be led into what looked to be the medical area, which included healing beds, places to store things, and a room off to the side for his own sleep and personal doings. There didn't seem to be much in the way of biological samples as of yet. but he could easily preserve some when he got it.

Malrak and Felena would be led to something that wasn't standard on a ship like this - conjoining rooms. Malrak would get what looked like a study, with bookshelves, a bed and number of cages with his ravens held inside with food and all else they needed. Felena's room was more basic with a bed, dresser, and just the few essentials. Their room was connected by a door which couldn't be opened unless two matching levers were in the downwards position at the same time.

Searus would be let to a workshop down near Ananius' own locked workshop, with some bits of tech on the shelves, a bed, and a few other things that she would probably need to feel home on her ship.

Goramor, meanwhile, would be led to his own single room where he had the essentials made up for someone of his stature. However, instead of a bed there was a nice pile of gold and jewels in one corner, a rather large one. Big enough for him to 'lie down' on at least.

Once the new crew was gone, Aeris turned to Lach and smiled, gesturing her navigator over. "Hey, Lach. I got us a nice little tip on a station with plenty of loot. I've sent the coordinates to your room, get us there safely will you?" she winked, having the utmost respect and trust in the navigator, confident that she would do as needed. "And if possible, try to not get much too close."

    < @Wincent >

After speaking with Lach, the captain moved over to her bodyguard and nodded to her with a gentle smile. It was true that she put some people off but the captain wasn't one, she had trust in the metallicoid humanesque being. "Shriek, I want you to head down to the barracks, alright? Tell my first mate that we're headed out on a raid, and the troops had betterb be ready. Because this one.. This one's going to be fun." she winked and patted Shriek on the shoulder before heading off to the rest of her crew.

Once that was done, the captain looked back at her other three crewmates and nodded to them, gesturing them over. "Alrighty then, Kai. How about you show me what you were able to get from the port?" she winked at the Tau, looking at her Ork and own techie. "And you two should come with too. As much as I trust Kai, it's the scoundrels here that I don't trust. So we're going to look over the big purchases, especially the ship components, before they get activated. Make sure no one screwed with them after Kai bought them." she nodded, leading the three of them down to the cargo hold, where she waited for Kairel to walk them through his purchases.

Kairiel added nothing but nodded in sympathy and understanding. Whenever he caused pain through his choice of words, it also pained him. At least if his conversational partners were people he had to care about - one way or another. His face drowned in misery when Arissa cursed in High Gothic. With a solemn nod and putting his hat on, followed by a bow he had made his leave.

Having caught up with the crew on-board, and the newcomers were led away by drones, their captain summoned the remaining and prior members - of which he belonged - to approach, and so he did. Having finally moved on from the dread of a lost world. It wasn't always easy to retain the inner peace, to be focused without letting a single thing tip you off an unclouded judgment.

"As you wish, Capt'n." The trader noted relaxed, leading the delegation to the cargo bay. "The budget was minimal, but I got twice the throne out of the quality, or at least so I estimate our savings. For example, I managed to get a Cadian for 6 months for free, which will replenish at least one lost soul from our last raid, along with his daughter who might be a useful deckhand, perhaps in the kitchens or janitorial duties." He could go on and on forever for 'free' stuff he got for the crew, although very aware of the soft costs such as two beds, food, water - it was hard to get by proper soldiers with proper background, and getting a 6-month contract for free? For a Cadian? That was an achievement on it's own.

"So. For the ship." He presented several crates with gang and clan icons on them, the top of the boxes pried open one at a time by his lifter drone, Andros.

"I managed to get two salvos worth of prowl torpedoes. They are of human technology, all they need are some proper rites for their machine spirits and they shall hit true. I got two dozen Las Rifles with rechargeable batteries. A new water purifier. But where... Oh here!" Kairiel ran off to 5 especially big crates, each bearing a symbol of the Imperium.

"May I present to you! Our very own...." He left a suspense, letting a small swarm of drones pry the crates completely open, revealing individual mechanical blocks, perfect modules - if one knew the STC. Although Ananius Vex could make a calculated guess of what the STC was, but the Tau made the announcement for everyone in earshot.

"Valkyrie! Got a huge discount, because it came straight out of a manufactorum, raided by accident, and nobody of their gang had a clue how to assemble it, or even what it was! I only knew it because of this." He reaches into his robes and grabs out a book of roughly 300 pages. It read in gothic 'Valkyrie - The Imperial Pilots Primer'. "When inspecting the crates and insisting on taking a look inside, well... Somewhere in the padding, in a plastic bag I saw this. Figured it belonged to it... Aaaand gambled that our venerable local Techpriest and Mek might be capable of assembling it."

"And no worries, I stayed on budget. Just got a bit cheaper hull plating to fix holes in the various decks... It will do for makeshift, don't think anyone will fall straight through it or something. And if anything, we could use them for internal trapdoors." As always, Kairiel played down on where he made cheapskate decisions in order to spend their money - in his opinion on more important matters - leaving for example the fact out completely that he bought only processed food which probably tastes like grox crap but will keep them alive, rather than some actual fresh protein which would taste good and keep them alive.

Felana had been silent most of the dinner keeping a silently but different approach to interacting first learning about others then possibly speaking to them later, A few things catching her ear about the tau, And the two nobles spryers that were with them Felena had to wonder in her mind who made the spryer's Hunting rigs and how much resources wold it take to obtain one for herself, She dismissive this thought as they were taken to there rooms, Seeing as she and Malrak were sharing one with a interesting privacy features about the wall she began looking around the rooms them self moderately impressed,

They werent the best rooms she had been in but it wasent the worst like a few times out in motels or lover hive apartments. "Well now Malrak seems we go ourselves a room that we can share and if we need private time can put a wall up if we need to, Seems quite nifty." Felena said looking around and putting her bags near her own bed.

  9. Malrak found his new living arrangements acceptable, his birds were all treated well during their moving and over all the room was rather nice actually. The bookshelf would prove useful in the future and he did not require much to be comfortable. Though the fact that his room was conjoined with Felana's did raise questions about what the captain thought their relationship. He of course didn't really mind how it was set up they could both have privacy if they wished and he knew Felana was trustworthy. But it still rose questions in his mind which he would ponder later.

"Yes the concept is somewhat intriguing Felana." He took off his cloak revealing the armored robes he wore underneath and the chains wrapped around his torso. The heavy burden placed upon him when he left his cult to write his life's work. The book that was attached to the end of the chain the other end was fused into his body during a painful ritual. After unwrapping some of the chains allowing some slack so he could hold the book a comfortable distance from him he sat on his bed. "But speaking of privacy I would like to write in my tome so if you would close the door that would be appreciated." @Vulpas

Lach had quickly stuffed the last bite of her light meal inside her when she'd seen the captain approach, slightly underestimating the size of the bread roll, and as a result, still somewhat jaw-locked when her mistress finally addressed her specifically. Now, the Navigator was not too worried about Captain Arinna being cross with her for it, but the situation did cause some difficulty in responding to the order. Left with few possibilities, she produced a muffled "Ah-ha" of confirmation, and saluted loosely before retreating to her chambre of navigation, still struggling with the resilient roll on the way.

The Navigator's office/living quarter was a small, dark - yes - claustrophobic affair, devoid of romantic viewing ports or large spaces for moving. But Lach had requested it for a reason - here, and only here, it was the quietest place upon the ship, and this relative silence, this... faraway thrumming that was so ignorable to a ship-dweller, it allowed her to focus on what she could see. Eschewing the lights, Kirsten made sure to lock the doors behind herself, and, taking a deep breath, took off her headband. A few streaks of hair fell over her third eye in the motion, and her breath of preparation became a sigh of relief. While it kept the sweat out of her lidless eye, the silky cloth was not exactly pleasant upon the warp-sclera. Briefly clutching the protective item, feeling its softness, the slight, cool moisture of accumulated perspiration, and the stickiness of rheum; the adventurer took a moment before throwing it onto an unseen pile of pillows and blankets. Carefully, she then removed her belt, hanging her holstered weapons from a mounted hook, and finally, her heirloom shield from another, providing the slightest scarlet glow - it was not enough to fully illuminate the room, but it did outline it, showing off the cushions that covered the entire two square metres of ground that the room provided, the pile of her personal effects, which included the dataslate that had recieved the Captain's data, and the small alcove in which Lach would curl up to sleep after a day's work. Now, however, work was not done yet, even though she continued with removing her boots and socks, and finally, the vest she wore above her simple shirt - it was a simple matter of comfort, a pleasure she afforded her genetically frail form when her mind transcended the mundane.

Slowly, she lowered herself into the centre of the room, placing her feet on her thighs. Her eyes fell shut, but she did not stop looking. Lachesis of the flesh faced a wall, but her sister of soul was at the centre of much more.

Gothic doesn't possess words to describe the Empyrean. Not the language of the workers, nor its noble cousin. Its first ever glimpse by the young Navigator brought tears to her eyes. To speak of its indescribable beauty would be an insult - and so understating its sheer hideousness. Dull and vibrant, still and tempestuous, horrifying, reassuring, so familiar and always strange. Never a pattern save for those that appeared. Never a flow save for those that were mapped out, in Lach's mind. So empty, so alone, and yet, full of eyes.

One of them in service to the Hanatari.
