They should make it so Tacticools and DAs actually start the cap much faster since they only have one class in their faction that can cap.

I've done the same playing my alpha was running past a rhino when everyone jumped out of the rhino on top of me I ran into the building with the group and took the point while they were shooting at my allies outside lol. There was no time left on the clock waiting for their cap to finish so I uncapped it an won the match.
  3. That would be something i would totally accept if someone tells me "It's for asymmetrical balance bruh!"
Yes, CSM/Orks have 2 Cap classes, but LSM/Eldar initiate Caps much faster.

Definitely asymmetrical, but probably a total nightmare to balance.

Technically Eldar should have 3-4 classes that cap, if we're looking for balance.

So why not let any class take the Capture Key, then balance it in the cost of doing so? Probably need some kind of visual cue to show that each given class has a CK equipped so the enemy knows who to attack.

In this case I've got a better idea.

Just scrap CSM all together, merge them with poster boys LSM and call it a day if you want to make the factions identical except one being edgy.

Tell me about it. The Orks called, they want to know why they're the worst at almost everything. If one is going down the logical route of what this or that faction gets in exchange, a lot of questions could be asked on behalf of the orks.

You're better at ranged combat than Eldar...

Orks are in a weird spot right now, your Melee is sucky. But your ranged is probably too good. Devs clearly don't know what they are doing when it comes to balancing Xenos.

Better than the Dark Reaper, yes. Too good? No. Autocannon is probably too good. The ACE dakka costs 200 more LP, has 10 less penetration and 10 less damage per hit, unmoddable. Yet, ACE dakka isn't all. Even the shuriken cannon beats the dakka deffgun, then you've twinlinked, VSB or such to compare to the shoota. Animations, hitbox size, lootas cover disadvantage, delay when jumping over railings allowing orks to be hit more easily, less reach, slowest turning speed and acceleration, getting stuck when running up or downhill, and so forth, provides a compliment to the picture. One could make the case that they're second best, but in reality I find that LSM is better since the HB produces a comical amount of suppression to orks, and orks alone, and the VSB is king of the hill in the range where most fights happen. So for heavies, they're beating the Eldar, but that's it. Eldar trump them elsewhere though.

It's not a nightmare, but it's far from balanced, and if we even ignore that and start fresh with a "what do they get in exchange?", well, then there are questions to ask. Like Orks having the worst AV setup. What do they get in return? Worst vehicles. What do they get in return? Hell, let's not dwell too much on past decisions and just look at the recent changes before the next patch. Orks had their recoil increased for the shoota weapons, what did they get in return? ACE dakka was nerfed, what did they get in return? Before that, rokkits were nerfed, what did they get in return?

Well, you get the picture. I agree that asymmetry is nice. I'm not complaining about autocannons, VSB or TLSC, Hawks, Mark of Slaanesh or Grav cannons. They're very nice options, very fun to use, very good things that make the factions varied and very dangerous to face. Yet, what did orks get? Slightly better availability to get +15 HP on top of their +25 HP bonus? It's a rather poor deal. It's only the small ork community and its relative experience compared to the others that even give them a fighting chance, not anything mechanical as it should be.

It's more of the fact that a lot of maps highly encourage either heavy weapon positions or fast melee advances. Medium-range units, although successful, can be ignored and are equally effective against PUGs and coordinated groups as melee units mixed with heavy fire support are. It's not really a question of Dire Avengers being too weak, but more of a question of the map designs.

I digress, though, my point is that dedicated melee rushes will be the absolute norm for Eldar, as Embolden and Protect exist to easily coordinate PUGS and groups to do it. That is why I would rather see DA have a melee option (which is kind of promised, just saying....) than giving Banshees and Fire Dragons the ability to cap.

It's a problem for orks because our caps are bright green as well, making the scorps blend in magnificently :(
