Yep...another Ork Kannon thread...

    That is arguably the only way the other factions would finally be happy with the state of the weapon.

    Nerfed OHK weapons vrs the Kannon which for some reason is receiving special treatment:

    Nobody mentions anything about the Power Fist / Klaw charged OHK Strong Attack yet it is the ultimate cheese if you catch someone unawares mounted on a battlement their done before they even know what hit them or have any time to react.

    Nobody mentions this because nobody uses it because the Fist / Klaw is SO BAD! in ALL other areas.

    If anyone sees a you coming there is a 90% chance the Fist / Klaw wielder is done because of Janky Melee mechanics that favour ALL other weapons.
    • Any Ranged weapon? better option than Klaw / Fist in Melee combat range
      • Because LMB + Spam between swings or after Dbash = guaranteed kill)
    • Any Melee weapon? better option than Klaw / Fist in Melee combat range
      • because faster weapons land Quick Attacks between Klaw / Fist Quick Attacks which *SHOULD* clang
      • Even the combat knife is better than the fist because of this reason^
    The above happened because people bitched that they don't like OHK cheese. And their right! No weapon should OHK.

    So by that reasoning all OHK weapons should get the same treatment across the board. Make them incredibly hard to use and give all other weapons the advantage in 90% of all situations.

    The below OHK weapons give you the feeling that "sure, I got OHK but it was my fault I died, I could have avoided it so thats fair"
    • The Laz Cannon is easy to recognise and avoid
    • The Klaw / Fist is easy to recognise and avoid
    • The Tempest Launcher is easy to recognise and avoid
    • The Plasma Cannon is easy to recognise and avoid
    • A well placed Melta Bomb / Grenade is easy to recognize and avoid
    The below weapon has special treatment vrs ALL OHK WEAPONS which dosent give you that feeling like you could do something about your situation therefore is not consistent with the treatment of all other OHK weapons:

    The below is basically a Laz Cannon without the downsides. We are of cause talking about KANNONDEFFGUN CHEESE:
    • Instant Delivery
    • 100% Accuracy
    • Ultra Long Range
    • AoE Splash Damage (so you dont actually have to hit your target, anywhere near by is good)
    • Full freedom with Target Tracking, unlike the Laz Cannon which is restricted by demanding you keep your target within the target circle while firing

    Also you forgot the option to reduce the damage so it doesn't OHK, similarly to the list.

    Why not just buff Plasma Cannon and Reaper Launcher projectile speed so that they become viable counters to Kannons? Both need to have their projectile speed roughly doubled on gross estimate.

    Both those weapons are in need of buffs and it would make sense to balance Kannons after seeing how the other two weapons perform.

    Idk about the launcher but the PC was akin to current cannon. Putting them to the same level is increasing the problem not solving it.

    The Plasma Cannon was also nerfed in regards to it's damage/AOE. Am not asking for that aspect of the PC to be restored, merely for the projectile speed to be increased so it that becomes a viable gun capable of actually sniping a Kannon Loota.

    One of the reasons the Kannon is so prevalent is the reduced accuracy of Lascannons at extreme range.
  8. I personally don't like this. I regard the PC as the gun version of the powerfist. I vote for more power and AOE but slower projectiles. if you're too much of a vegetable to dodge those kidns of slow moving projectiles, you deserve to melt. Heya, resident Ork player here. Yes, Deff Kannons are hilariously over powered atm. I haven't been around lately and just got back on to 5 siege maps where one of the teams consisted of 2 dokks, 2 shootahs and 11 deff kannon wielding orks with similar numbers on the other maps... I felt out of place being the 16th only ork with the zzappa equipped... boy have I missed out on much.
