I don't want to go off topic, but can you give a bit more context on this? What high penetration weapons do Dire Avengers have? The highest penetration primary weapon I can think of is a Shuriken Catapult with Starshard ammo, which is 110. Hardly 'high penetration'.
The problem playing with/against eldar is that there are two ways that matches finsih 1.eldar curbstomp 2.eldar get curbstomped No middle ground, no good and lasting fight , no turnarounds, nothing.
If not for ability to play xenos, this game wouldn't even be noticed by anyone. Its literally the ONLY thing going for EC at the moment. Without xenos, WHY in the world would I play this over space marine? The only thing EC has that SM doesn't is a crowd of LSM players who make themselves look like some kind of martyrs while complaining that everything is OP instead of learning to play the game.
That implies that the game would even be able to last that long. Sure, balancing the game would be easier with just LSM vs CSM, but it doesn't mean that the game would be that much better. Except they would also get a ton of bad publicity from a lot of pissed off Xenos Founders that bought the game on the premise that their races will be in, only for devs to delay them for an indefinite amount of time.
Your hate and generalization towards LSM and its player base is astounding. To remove elder just to get rid of your constant LSM-bashing would a reason alone to do it. (sorry to all other Eldar-players) You are just mad, that your beloved faction does not get the attention, which you think it deserves. (And yes, they need more love...) That out of the way, EC needed much more time to get the Xenos-races right and much bigger player base to be not underpopulated. Was it a good decision? Nope, but Nathan had no other choice because of the promises been made and people who paid for it (Not that would count much). Anyways, with the huge game changing direction, one Xenos race (Orks or Eldar) would have been enough, maybe even push the PvE part aside. And sorry to all Eldar again for the comment above, you are a worthy foe, but enough is enough.
The problem is not that Xeno-factions exist at all, not even that they regret implementing them. The problem is that they would rather not have made them and it shows in the way they design the game. -If they never implemented Eldar, going with another faction or none at all it might have worked out. -But now, since they did, the worst thing they can possibly do is pretend like they dont exist, but unfortunately thats kinda whats happening. At this point Orks and Eldar are an essential part of the game. When either of the factions dies so, in time, will EC itself. (And if you know my last posts I do not tend to be pessimistic) Personally I would have been done with the game after ~100 hours if it werent for Eldar. Looking at the bigger picture it might have worked out better without them, maybe not, who knows?
That is not true I have been part of a great number of games where the victory was just barely won by the side that won and the game was a lot of fun. I personally prefer these kind of games rather than one where we just make the other side cry at the end of the game. Part of the reason some people came to this game is the fact you could play something other than LSM/CSM and the fact it wasn't going to be another SM oh look we tossed some spikes on the guns and called it a MP game of cloned items. Yes its quite tricky to balance 4 races with different sets of weapons but the dev team is working on bringing us a game where all 4 races have unique items. Out of all the races LSM currently can brag about the largest diversity of weapons and the some of the best combination of weapons and utility items, one thing they cant boast about is there willingness to work together. Too many heroes and not enough players who are willing to take that hit for the good of the team. This is something the Eldar are forced to do as we pay a heavy price for our "speed". Every other race can take its Tactical equivalent and operate independent of the rest of the players in the game, yet you do that with a Dire Avenger and you will die, as without Enhance the Eldar players chance of survival drops dramatically. Is this a bad thing? Not really as the game is designed to be a team based shooter but the forced team work when your team isn't working together looks like they are OP. However many people forget the fact that at that point to have the combat effectiveness of a single player you are now bringing a 2 v 1 to the fight.
