Not to mention, how can I surf my tank into battle if I can't jump on top of the tank in the first place?

  2. Well... Let's call GW and tell them to invent Spehss Bunny faction. Then add it to EC, so everyone can be happy.

There's no place for jumping in EC and point stays.

You will be able to climb on obstacles of proper height and probably jump over small ones through interaction (need confirmation). I don't see there being cover system (which we've seen in videos) without the ability to jump over it.

Pretty sure they did jump over cover... there wouldn't go around, right? :O Anyway... Can you see those guys jumping? Can you imagine how silly that would look?

I (and I'm guessing many others) are not here for "platformer" gameplay either.

  3. There is no jumping but in the first pre alfa footage you can see tactical marines climb up on untextured boxes ,so we have that going for us ,which is nice.

If you watch the Ultramarines movie there's a segment with Space Marines jumping over the pillars of a broken bridge. Surprisingly enough, it doesn't look absolutely ridiculous - it looks like space marines running and jumping, not growing bunny ears and nibbling on carrots. Who'd have thought it?

orks should be able to jump and do such crazy stuff like that

the only "jumping" a (Chaos)space marine will ever do is with a jetpack

P.S. passing obstacles is not what i mean with free jumping

Maybe we can't jump but we can do THIS:

  7. :D funny enough.

I guess they didn't look that bad in the movie, but their jumping in a film got not much to do with jumping players in a game.

I can accept there being jumps implemented but only for some special places, like (as example) that broken bridge in a movie. I do think though, such places and jumping will annoy most of people, because they are in this game for shooting and tactics, not for acrobatics and platforming. That's what DMC exists for.

    Omg... I'm dying here.

Having "Press space to jump, press space to climb, press space to vault, press space to do everything" prompts show up everywhere would drive me absolutely nuts. Being able to jump fixes that.

And seeing people jumping randomly or jump himping a wall trying to climb it would rive me nuts

And your solution is to take away jumping and fill the entire world with button prompts. Arguably the most clunky solution you could possibly have. People jumping around like idiots is totally overblown problem, every now and then you might see some idiot do it, but they're hardly the norm.

Removing jumping removes an entire aspect of shooters, you can't properly climb things, you can only go where the designers want you to.

Really, all you need to do to prevent people from jumping in combat is reducing their accuracy. To prevent them from jumping behind cover and shooting you, just remove the ability to zoom in while jumping.

A few bad apples jumping around like idiots are not a reason to remove an entire, very valid mechanic.
