    Hmm...go on then :p
  4. Yay...
Yeah about the subject, I think the devs have taken enough ideas from other games that it wont be a problem to continue. Sprinting can fix the problem of the hole in the ground situation, in AC1-100000, you can simply sprint around and when the game sees you about to run off a cliff, you jump. Simply put that mechanic in game.
Problem is, Steven is not an incompetent level designer and he wont make holes in the ground. (as far as we know)

It's an exploitable engine glitch in the house-curtailed engine for Halo 3. For "long jumping" you hit the jump button just as you fall off the ledge, giving you maximum forward reach. The problem with the engine used for Halo 3 and subsequent games (and those previous) was that no momentum was lost by jumping. Hence "bunny hopping" being a thing, with players constantly mashing A in order to stay afloat in the air and gain a height advantage in combat, along with making it hard to get headshots. Plus jumping was actually a faster method of movement than walking in Halo.

  6. Srsly, m8, calm down, its a game.
I dont think it was a glitch either, I dont think the developers even cared that it was there, it seems like fun, infact I remember doing it alot.
  7. 1. Glad devs said no to jumping and gone for Space Marine like dodges.
    2. That said, that devastator's animation could use a big rework to make it look:
    - Less bunny hopping.
    - More Space Marine -like.

Plus it looks like their devastator is jumping waaay to long distances.

  8. There isn't really much they can do about it though.

Retracting the height of the leap would make it look less silly, not so much the length. So they would keep the function of the evasion, while from an aesthetic perspective make it look much more natural. Since half of this thread has revolved around Astartes and jumping, I think it'd be appropriate to make it more of a quick strafe than the leap =P. Keep the distance, change the animation.

As Abenobashi said, there is aesthetic changes you can make to the character's movements. Besides I hear no complaints that in Space Marine jumping wasn't allowed.

The dodge works fine in my opinion and looks cooler too.
