Tonight I played 2 hours with Orks. We didn't win one single match. We lost against everyone: LSM, CSM, Eldar. WTF is wrong guys? Part is because of because this fucking game: still fights starting with huge population imbalance, still Hold The Line Fights starting 8 vs 14, still WAAAAGH burning our tickets too fast. Against LSM it was all about plasma spam and JPA melee spam, as usual. But we completely lacked any form of strategy or communication. Stick to your fucking squad leaders. Do don't go around all alone. Play wisely, do not waste defensive tickets. Against Eldars do not let your vehicles parked, because the default Fire Dragon loadout has melta weapon and melta grenades. If you are appointed squad leader and you do not want to lead (or have no idea how to do it) pass leadership to someone else! Tonight I've seen horrible things. We lost fights in 5 minutes because we have been unable to capture a single point. In a battle against Eldar we ran out of trukks after 2 minutes. What the hell Orks, learn the fucking basics of the game or do greenskins a favor, join the ranks of noobs marine with their plasma guns.
above post has right reason. Ive stomped LSM hard lately and its because they have a severe lack of teamwork on a teamwork based game.
I played about an hour yesterday. Played against exactly the same CSM guys for 3 matches in a row. Felt like my teammates were bots set on "easy" because I was sure having no problems killing the CSM but they were.
When the match ends I see scores of like myself and maybe 3 other people with double digit scores, sometimes in the twenties or thirties and the rest of the team has like 0 to 4 kills a person. Its like that on both sides as well. So now when I see premades I have even MORE reason to dodge the game. Cause I know it is an auto loss
If it makes you feel any better, DLB premade kept getting SM premades for the most part earlier, AND WE STOMPED 'EM GOOD!
As a new player, here's my experience run down for the Orks: - Try all classes. Every single damage class preset seems to struggle against veteran players. I got the jump on several higher leveled players, unloaded my basic ammo on them and they easily survived the salvo and killed me or wounded me enough to retreat in a surprisingly insane burst. After checking the advancements table, is quite obvious that you need to unlock stuff to be able to stand up for players who out skill you and out gun you. - The only class I manage not to be completely useless was pain boy, and only when veteran players were around, so I kept them healthy. Lower level characters I even try saving, and sometimes succeed but they take so much burst damage they can't always retreat for help. This game wasn't really balanced with this in mind. Or maybe I'm even noobier than I think lol, sorry.
That's not an issue anymore. Don't get me wrong, they still have the basic loadout, but the reason people "complained" about that was because they could get 5 regular slots and a decent anti-vehicle slot in. Now however, that's changed because at some point in recent time they buffed the hell out of the meltas and fusion guns. Now, you don't see tacticals with boltguns that much, and not too many grav guns either. They use meltas, because it takes 0,5 seconds to kill anything you point it towards. It's an assault weapon now. Fusion guns are the same. I recently attacked maggon against eldar and there were more fire dragons defending the points than banshees and scorpions combined, and these stayed inside and didn't even bother to vehicle hunt. I used to play a fire dragon, and I remember when they were good against vehicles but awful against infantry. I had to burn out an entire load to just barely kill a non-veteran, and missing the mark for a milli-second meant they lived. Guess that's not true anymore. It's a perfect choice because you're great against everything. It's a mini-JPA in that way.
