(ceramite plate makes vehicles immune to the melta effect). Seriously. We are going to need something when we play eldar the first week of the patch. In two days (granted at super sped up progression) I got a fresh eldar character from 1 to 5. What was my speedy method? Fire dragons win you games. They just do. Spawn in a wave serpent and just hunt transports all game. That is what I did 90 precent of the time. The other 10 prevent on maps lie maggon and zedek I spawn as swooping hawk and quickly fly to the quad guns for kill farming. Listen, when only one faction starts with a melta the others are going to have a bad time. Step one. Ram enemy transport. Step 2. Hop out and plant meltabomb. Step three circle burn transport (if the other guy is even smart enough to get out and try and stop you). Step 4. There isn't one. Keeping the enemy running at you piece mail is the most powerful thing a lone wolf can do. They are not making headway without closer spawns. Later when your dragon can take two bombs there is virtually no chance anyone can stop you from eliminating that transport. And while they are on cool down you can shank a foo with your knife. Load out upgrades for ceramite plating would be a godsend. Otherwise the best strategy will still be suicide rush the transports at all costs. As an inexperienced else player I was ranking top of the charts virtually every game. P.s. got rank five with everyone! Even if the last was basically super easy due to boosted xp.
I enjoyed having the Judex available early on, the power sword for SM, as it gave/gives me an anti infantry and av weapon, even if it takes a little bit longer. It takes a vehicle down as fast as a heavy bolter or so, that is including heat management though.
Soooooo you want vehicle immune to almost AT exclusively weapon. Riiiiiiight, because that's going to happen. Have you considered, I don't know, DEFENDING the transport?
Too much effort for occasional melta attacks. All it takes for melta guy is to reach your vehicle and dmg it enough for HB(SC) guys to finish it off. Its not like attackers have a lot man to spare to defend vehicles, right? Eldar have so many AV using vehicles pretty much loose any impact on the game.
Actually, a roaming transport can be quite powerful. Just keep doing a circuit near the current objective, and people spawning in will hop out when you get close. Keeps the transport safe, and usually helps provide cover fire for your buddies. Meltas can't do anywhere near as much damage if they aren't right up on the thing, and they can't get right up on the thing if they can't keep up with it.
So Eldar will be at advantage for 2 evenings at most. Gamebreaking indeed. This is the only part in games life span where eldar specialist approach will be more advantageous then disadvantageous. I think people will survive that singular weekend, before they farm their own AT weapons.
Balance questions aside, they have said vehicle customization is on the radar so features like that may be on the table later.
I guarantee you. If you and two other people sit and try and defend a rhino, I can fly over in a serpent and drop two melt a bombs before you can stop me. Two days won't change that.
Thats what the wave serpent is for. Crash into you and stop you for half a second. I do it on moving rhinos all the time.
