Yet they still don't think more Aus/NZ timezone mods is a good idea. Yes I'm gonna keep banging this drum till we get some more mods.

Can't beat a bot without being one yourself. Like I've said in other threads, there just aren't enough (or any) mods on between 3pm-10pm AEST when the bots seem to hit the hardest. Having a few more Aus/NZ mods would help keep them under control rather than leaving the early morning crew a heap of work to do.
  6. Founder forums don't have any spam! All joking and teasing a side I think some basic system to keep them at bay. I think a simple post count requirement before you can make a thread would work. Let's say 2?

Eh, they may start spamming threads, which is far worse. I think new accounts have a large delay between being able to create threads, 10/15 minutes between threads for accounts less than a week old, would cripple the level of spam we are getting.
  8. We are talking about spam bots here. They don't think. That is our best way to beat them.

Yes but the people behind the bots could easily change how the bots act and get them to post in threads. Both of our ideas would slow the bots, but ultimately only a better anti-bot system or more mods can make any significant impact on the problem.

I still say if we drop a nuclear bomb on that phone number area code we will either get the spammer or scare it off our forum.
