Would removing Veterans LP cost actually break them? Because they don't feel "elite"

?

Do you think Veterans should have no LP cost limit?

This. Vehicle hits, PC, Starshot, Kannon, Rokkit, Power fist/klaw, all of them instakill veterans. Veterans should ALWAYS go into bleedout mode no matter how much damage they receive in 1 shot and so should not die instantly. Enemies should make sure to execute or finish off veterans after they fall. It's ridiculous how many 150xp points I get for sending poor veterans ragdoll flying to the other end of the map.

EDIT: don't wanna attract all the Space Marine hate, but I'm thinking of something like this

If you got one, right? Stupid idea...

I'd really prefer that over any limited but OP solution.

    Would be nice, yeah.

    Not sure what you mean...

You mean if I progressed to rank 5 and saved enough Advancement points to purchase the Veteran class ability? Frankly, I have enough spare time and dedication that I could do that in a week if I really wanted to. I mean, I did pretty much my entire Insane in the Membrane achievement in WoW in a total of 3 weeks, 1/3 of which I couldn't/didn't play during because I received a 3-day suspension for something unrelated (turns out sound mods are actually against the rules in WoW and can get you a suspension for hacking. Either that or I was banned for no valid reason whatsoever, as that is literally the only explanation I could come up with) and the associated not wanting to play WoW for a bit due to feeling I was treated unfairly.

Part of the reason I haven't even cared about unlocking Veteran classes in EC is that threads like these tell me Veterans are such a minor power increase over a standard class they're barely even worth using in their current iteration. I haven't cared about the advanced armor for a similar reason - people who have gotten them have reported that you sacrifice too much other stuff to make the extra survivability worth it.

Also I think more than one would be ideal. Maybe 5 per side in a 30-40 player battle and 10 per side in the 60-player Fortress maps?

I meant literally, "you'd be ok with the limit per side, if you had spawned as one".
5 per side let's say. How do you say who gets the chance to spawn as one? And why not the other guy, who worked just as hard to unlock it? And maybe he has played many games today and his game is loading slow now, so ofc first-come-first-serve methos cannot be applied.

    /care about WoW so I didn't read it :p

Answer: pick them randomly. Then when they die, another players gets picked at random it use their revered class (and if they don't on next respawn, reroll for another player etc.).
  7. The only Veteran class worth unlocking/using right now is Veteran JPA's.

They're the only ones with enough mobility to both get in and get shit done and also boogy out if things get nasty.

Everyone else is just more meat for the meat god.

The difference between Veteran and non-Veteran is currently so small I don't think anyone would be heartbroken if they couldn't play their Veteran class. Could also rotate it out so that the guy who's been using their Veteran class longest... Actually, no, nevermind, limited concurrent Veterans per side is dumb because if you think about how it would work at the start of the game once the lag and loading problems are fixed it would just generally suck to have 10 people go for their Veteran and only 5 get them, no matter what system you went with for deciding who they were.

Veteran is such a hindrance on defense. Need to redeploy!? Well say goodbye to half your veteran lives. Want to save your vet life and not redeploy!? Well say goodbye to Charlie point.

Need that melta!? Must redeploy... but wait! Don't wanna lose my vet life. Fuck the team. YOLOx2

I feel like It would be a better idea for vets to have around 2800 lp or so, because as it is you can surely get "more" but it doesn't really provide much benefit. Much like 'ard armour being a 250 lp cost for minimal boosts to armour and toughness. Might as well grab a couple of war-gear and not bother.

I feel that a veteran should be able to actually take his flimsy armour and his fancy gubbins, and his flash weapons, because otherwise you feel like the next zoggin grot who maybe had enough teef to buy a useless but flash looking piece of armour when all he needed was a bit more dakka and therefore why not go loota or shoota?

Seems a bit redundant to play a veteran since they are not really worth the hassle.
