World Capture Rewards

  1. winning a campaign will give out a reward for the winners
    maybe something cosmetic

    then the winning faction may be set into a defensive position for the next campaign
    maybe they will also open new continents for new campaigns
  2. Actually, after thinking about it, I like the suggestion the OP makes the most. (Except without controlling all territory, but with winning a campaign / doing objectives).

    You know, who cares if he gets a little cosmetic something? If it goes like in most games, at some point you will have a ton of different medals and badges, so that you don't care, or can't even wear them all or noone will recognize them when you wear them.

    So I would rather have something in the world itself for the whole faction. A Statue/ base decorations/maybe a new outpost. Something permanent that you as a faction changed in the world. This also, doesn't have to be only for the winner. It can be something related to the campaign objectives.

    Lets say SM have to defend one location at all costs. If they suceed with that specific objective of the campaign, there will be a statue of the SM that got the most kills in the defense of the outpost (or just a SM related statue). Or even just a new gate that has a new look (and maybe 50% bonus hp?) while SM are holding the Keep.

    Or when the Eldar Faction has to for example, raid a supply line, if they suceed there could be added some dead SM models along the road, with Eldar swords sticking in them.

    If they could pull of something like this... I would much prefer it over meaningless badges/medals/skins that noone recognices/you have way to many. On the other hand, if it was like I suggested, everytime you would come to this place, you could see a part of the history for yourself. It would also help the immersion, and with making the place more lively. Many people fear right now that the Planet doesn't have enough charakter. But if we would do it like this, there would be gradually more charakter added. And then it would not be: "There is the wrack from a flyer I wonder what happened here." It would be: "Yeah, I remember when we fought for 3 days and tried to take out the antiair position, but finally failed."

    This would be the greatest thing ever, AND it is something I think would be realisticly possible.


    Edit: Also, it would fix the problem of people switching to the winning faction for the reward at the end of a campaign. Only if you identify with the Faction that gets it, only if you identify with the fight, it has meaning and value to you.

    That is what we were thinking. It lowers what the decor/customization is for the game. But if we have a statue or some monument made to show the efforts that it took for that race to win then that will mean everything to that race. Even if they lose that monument later and it gets orcified or chaos defile it, its still there. Its still a reminder of what happened. But in the same way you dont want to make it all over the place that it makes it always around. That why I say use it as if a race captures something truly amazing like a capital or the planet. And dont get me wrong I understand if the planet might be to much of an idea, but people should know people will push for complete take over.

    I'd go as far as suggestion a few polished beakie helmets and some cracked skulls to hang around my ship.
  6. Some physical reminders would be great. Kinda like the monuments CCP puts up after massive battles in EVE: Online; a visible reminder of what happened. They also have ship graveyards around the battle sight too. EC could easily do that with corpses, or staining the ground red, per angels with blood, plus scattering some wrecks around, craters here and their, etc.

    I'd be really sad if one faction was that strong, to totally wipe the floor with three other factions.
    If I were a betting man I'd say you get an All Your Base achievement.

    lol if a single faction can repeatedly dominate Arkhona they will recieve a worthy reward....a damn good nerfing

    I could see a lot of potential with the campaigns though, it could be a huge bonus for rogue points upon completion, or maybe a cool customization piece. I agree with you, there should be something in the off chance a race dominates a map but I think as long as campaigns focused on different points around the world we could have some pretty epic cap and defend.

    Sometimes, it not even being OP is what causes a faction to win. Sometimes factions are just more organized than others. I really think people misjudge how much organization in factions can change a fight.....
