World Capture Rewards

    This was something that my friends and I talked about for a while and truthfully I had no idea if there were any discussions on it yet.

    What happens if a race captures the entire map/planet?

    Now I realize it may have already have been decided but I was curious what the community thought? Should the map just be reset back to default after a the victors get to show off for a day their achievements, or should it be left alone? I want the winning race to have some idol on the map that stay till the next complete takeover as a symbol of their victory, but thats me. In the same way, I dont really want some ingame buff or some title given to the race. I want to be able to point to something visable in the world as a sense of pride and say look at what we did. That is what we fought for. This is why we worked hard for this game. Thoughts? or has this already been decided?

    My idea is to decorate all bases with the winning side symbols (banners, flags, maybe some statues, etc) and give some buff to losing sides (so they may get back to fight) and call that buff "reinforcements arrived". Alongside with that, a short backstory in form of war report could be released, speaking about achievements of wining side and losing sides getting reinforcements soon.

    But I do know we will be getting maybe some xp and some skins, probably some cool armor.
    Nothing major though, they dont want it to be a "play on whatever faction than jump to the winning.
    Its more about replayability and continuation.

    Well campaigns will have a set duration, and each race will have its specific objectives in the said campaigns.
    However they are planning to design these in such a way that taking over everything cannot be the be-all-end-all objective as the factions will be far from balanced in size.

    So even if you cap everything you still need to get what particular objective the current campaign held.
    Also there will be faction HUBs so you technically wont be able to cap everything.

    This discussion reminds me of a few times playing the TT where I've actually won on victory points but didn't have a single model left as every unit I had was destroyed but I achieved all objectives.

    I have understand that the world is not conquerable at 100% (main base are not conquerable).

    But the feeling of achive something real, and "taste the victory" is important: is one of the main error of ps2 and warhammer online.

    ok a faction win a campaign: and now the dev press the RESET button and start over again?

    Faction must win a campaign for a reason: they must have a plan, they need to conquert that outpoust because they need something.

    I hope that the campaings are linked to a bigger objective: We know that they are working on the background, they tell us that eternal crusade can become part of the war 40k fluff, so i hope that at least every 6 months something big happen (based on the victory in the campaign).

    i don't pretend to see every week some bad ass special events: but every 3-6 months yes, connected to a major content patch and a progress on the story of the war and arkhona.

    well... winning isnt really the goal in EC is it lol, that would sort of defeat the whole purpose of its name "eternal" crusade,

    the campaigns are just there for people who absolutely have to keep score when playing a PvP game and thier duration (hopefully more then 2 weeks) is a reinforcment of that ideal since no single team on any faction will ever be able to claim it was "their victory alone and everyone else just rode along",

    we all want to avoid the "snowball" effect of winners getting buffed by rewards

    I'm in favour of a "useless" reward like any cosmetic accesory, perhaps a purity seal or a medal type thing you can wear on your character to feel special

    In the spirit of playing on the Ork faction, why do you want to win or lose? If you do that the fighting stops, that's not much fun.
