Haven't read it, but it sounds simple enough. If you've done your reading of Nurgle you know that he and his followers are a... generous bunch. Their gifts are disease and death, sure, but it's the thought that counts, right?

Anyway another main thought in Nurgle philosophy is that we're all just going to die and fall apart, the only way not to is to become immortal or at least an afterlife in the Realm of Chaos. Then there's the way of living for an extremely long time and to not be affected or even bothered by the decay of your body, and that's worshiping Nurgle and dedicate yourself to him, that's what the DG and other Plague marines are doing. And why wouldn't they want us to join them? It's perfectly natural to want more people to worship your god, and if they refuse Nurgle then they are just another living thing that is going to die soon. So my guess is, since I haven't read the story, that they did not try to kill fellow astartes because of some need for revenge or something, but rather just wants to spread their gifts the only two ways they know how: Converting or killing.

Keep in mind that we are not so different, Nurgle is a part of the Pantheon and some of Him is in each of us.
  2. Yes I do understand that but I follow Tzeentch and Khorne more so. To have our bodies decay or fall apart is not what Lorgar would want for his sons. I also know the Blessed Lady would not be beautiful if her face was falling off. I will kill my enemies and they will rot it is part of nature but if I could have it my way the Blessed Lady would have been put in a stasis chamber so her body could be perfect for ever and not have cultists steal her bones for their own selfish needs.

You are free to resist the nature of the universe, and to try to bend it to your will, such is the way of man. But I hear there are still sides of Chaos that you have yet to embrace. Beauty needs not to be in stasis, that is but one of the ways it is shown to us.

Considering our newly fledged brother desires a plethora of mutations isnt that in itself a corruption of the beauty of man and his form? He has allot to dwell and ponder on, since he chose the undivided and your legion to boot he will have to accept all the varied natures of the gods equally.
Or am i wrong to assume you give no leniency for god preference, that is the Dark Apostles dont?

I do recall some exclusions of those who worshiped Khorne and were let to proceed doing so, but what became of them later on is unknown to me.

  5. I'm about halfway through the WB Ominibus, and that is a bit unclear. Obviously you're supposed to worship the Pantheon as a whole, and there is judgement on Legions such as the Emperors Children about worshiping only one god (among other things about them specifically) but they do invoke individual favor and seek blessings of one for a specific task. It seems that the problem is in holding one above all others, essentially forsaking the rest, but seeking the gifts of one god but worshiping them as a whole seems like something they'd be okay with. Plus, if your value to the Legion outweighs the deviation from their beliefs, then you'll be tolerated.

The tolerating part is the example i gave about the Khornates which were basically only tolerated cause they were an asset and not sanctioned by Apostles. Though i must say its pretty odd for the biggest zealots of the gods to allow for faith deviation, i wonder just how frequent these tolerances are.
  7. They way I view chaos is I will worship all the dark gods but I favor the blessings of Tzeentch and Khorne the most. I do feel that Slaanesh distorts the view of what beauty is. For the Blessed Lady being put in stasis because I feel she to be untouched by time and by anyone that wants to discrete her body. My body is a weapon to be used against anyone that wants to challenge my legion, so I will except all gifts from Khorne & Tzeentch but I will worship all of chaos whole.

Again, I think it's about leaning towards a specific god that is tolerated. A Word Bearer that feels the drive of bloodlust more than the others will lean towards Khorne, and that's fine. Deviation would be to not worship the whole pantheon, or to talk down on one of the Gods or to hold one above the others. That is merely my interpretation, and I bet different Apostles have different preferences.

The fact that you feel so strongly about the beauty of our Blessed Lady can very well be linked to Slaaneshi drives. You should meditate on that, brother.
  10. I have a question now. So worshiping the dark gods is fine but trying to use them for your own gain is a bad idea yes? Also regarding our Blessed Lady, would you feel ok with cultists desecrating her body for their own selfish reasons?
