It's one of the first novel series I've read, I did not read the omnibus edition, I have all three books instead . "Dark Disciple" was one of the best Wh40k book I've ever read.
Same here. I loved the Dark Apostle. I enjoyed how the go from the main cast to a side character. I enjoyed the sub character in Dark Disciple and the mystery of the Dark Creed.
First Heretic is what won me over, before that I sort of disregarded them, but Lorgar's transformation and that of the Legion was very well done. I have the Dark Apostle series(books not onmibus) and they're next on the list.
Dark Apostle was good, very cruel, very chaotic, gave a good taste of chaos. Dark Disciple is epic, an adventure against Dark Eldars and Tyranids. Dark Creed was kinda sad, felt sorry for Burias Drak'shal, but the ending is awesome. I just got that recently, gonna read it soon.
Yeah First Heretic was the one that got me hooked as well. Also the more recent Betrayer gave even more insight into Lorgar's vision, and the brotherhood between Khârn and Argel Tal.
I loved the First Heretic. Dark Apostle got me into the Word Bearers but the First Heretic really brought a new light to what Lorgar went through. The reason why I follow the Word Bearers is because I am sympathetic to Lorgar. Even the book Aurelian revealed Lorgar's unique journey through the Warp. I loved the conversation he had with Kairos Fateweaver, I imagined he looked, spoke and moved like the Skektze from Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal.
