When the 17th Legion was forced to bend down to the False-Emperor, before Gulliman, amongst the dust and remains of our greatest conquest, Monarchia, I remember a large lack of morale, destruction of the spirit, a legion shattered of all faith. I remember Lorgar, the son that I had adopted, that I stood beside as we claimed victory over the holy wars that ravaged Colchis, bereft of the will, losing his way. That was the darkest time in the Legion, but I would like to remind you, all of you insolent fools, that it was EREBUS and MYSELF, that guided Lorgar towards the Eye. It was us that sent him towards true enlightenment. When our Legion was on the precipice of destruction, our Primarch nothing more than a mewling wreck, that guided the Legion towards the true enlightenment, that there are in fact true GODS amongst us. And who are you to speak of Argel Tal? True, that he was amongst the first of us that had truly become one with the Gods. He made communion with true devils, he loyal spread the word of Chaos, even it was against everything that made him who he was. But that was the end of it. If he was truly favored by the Gods, and if he truly given himself wholly to them, perhaps he would be alive now, to see the results of his actions. But the Gods saw fit to remove him. Erebus was simply the means to that removal. That is something that I'd like to remind you all. So that you can all remember the reason you have been enlightened by Chaos. The reasons that you have something to worship now, instead of dragging yourselves through the rest of your wretched lives serving underneath a False Emperor, that could careless for any of you. Who would shame his sons, for simply believing in him. However, now is not the time for bickering. Now is the time for the Legion to unite once more. The various host must be assembled. We must amass all of our available forces, prepare the rites, set aside our hatreds and petty differences towards one another, and prepare for this coming crusade. Our Legion must stand above all others. Even I, who bickers and disagrees with Erebus more than any of you, know this. It will not be Abbadon and his lackeys amongst the Black Legion that win this war, nor the sons of Perturabo, nor Curze or Alpharius Ilk.The victory will not go to those that have given themselves solely to a single God either. It must be us that obtains this victory and all of the others that will come. It must be the XVII, the most devout, the most devoted, the first to achieve enlightenment, the first to spread it's words. Prepare your Bolters, sharpen your blades, remember your oaths and litanies, the time has come once more for the Legion as a whole to march to War. (im replying to the whole post, not just the quote but i dont want to copy the whole thing and make mine huge as well) A great inspirational speech, preacher, but nonetheless i will not be swayed to extinguish my hatred for those unworthy of leading our Hosts in the name of Chaos. Argel Tal did his part and was slain by the will of the Dark Gods but that is not notion to denounce him as unworthy. The true desire of the Gods cannot be for the universe to be fully enveloped in chaos, otherwise Horus would have survived and the Emperor would be truly dead. We would have a united legion ready to exterminate the sons of Guilliman, free from the bickering you and Dark Apostle Erebus share. We would have no sacrifices to offer who did not already willingly choose to do so. That is why we must have a galaxy full of prey in order to please the Dark Gods. The Imperium is essential for us and we waste time focusing the entirety of our forces to overthrow it. While the Imperium is still the great enemy, we have competition at hand that need be dealt with first. Xenos species disgrace us with their existence and predation of Imperial souls. The powers of Chaos favor you both as tools, as did they Argel Tal. Your purpose is to delay the extinction of the loyalist forces. Sad you see it as your purpose to destroy them. Either way though, i will still fight by your side in the coming crusade. Your master orations have swayed countless to the powers that be and Dark Apostle Erebus has gained his fair share of honors. I may disagree with both of your intentions for our legion in the Urizens absence but i will still answer to your call as your triumphs outweigh your failures. FOR CHAOS! FOR LORGAR! DEATH TO ALL!!!
