And had his arm removed. And as we all know, Erebus will continue to live for the next 10,000 Years....along with GLORIOUS LORGAR.
As well as leading the Word Bearers beside the Black Legion and Abaddon the Despoiler in the 13th Crusade..
"Kor Phaeron's whereabouts are currently unknown, but the multitudes of Chaos Cults and uprisings around the Maelstrom lead many to believe that Kor Phaeron may have survived the Horus Heresy, and continues to spread the faith and message of Chaos Undivided to the present day." http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Kor_Phaeron#At_Present
I do not trust either Kor Phaeron or Erebus. They reek of treason to the blessed Lorgar and the legion. They favor their own agendas instead over the crusade against the Imperium.
Which is exactly why I wanted Kharn to kill him. Erebus killed Argel Tal, Kharn's closest battle brother. Lorgar told what Erebus had done to Argel Tal to Kharn, and Erebus was thrown into the gladiator pits with the berserker. Unfortunately, Kharn spared him.
Well it's a possibility, but really it's because Erebus was included in stories after the events of Horus Heresy and so instead of changing the other stories or having Betrayer contradict all other stories, Erebus was simply left alive.
Hello fellow Word Bearers, I bring the great teaching of Lorgar for I'm one of Prosperan's Dark Apostle. Together we shall smite the Ultramarines for what they have done to us during the Horus Hersey. DEATH TO THE FALSE EMPEROR AND PRAISE TO THE TRUE GODS!!!
Lorgar isn't that concerned with crusading either, or he'd have got off his knees and left the Templum Inficio at some point over the last few millennia. All he cares about now is worshipping his gods. Your Cardinal and Dark Apostles may have their own agendas, and may throw away the lives of your Legionaries rather cheaply (Maloq Kartho... ), but at least they actually participate in the Long War and give your Legion some kind of leadership. Aurelian... not so much. Admittedly I'm a fair bit less reverential about my long dead Primarch and the Ruinous Powers than you guys, and I don't have to waste time kissing up to gods and daemons, so I can be a bit more objective and cynical about these sorts of things. No need to thank me for my insights
