launch was unplayably buggy, with 1/2 the promised content cut. Then about 6 months after realese the bugs were fixed for the most part and the game was amazingly fun. Then they added RR90+ gear, and things went downhill fast.

Gear progression from tier to tier was maybe a 5% increase in stats, but 80-90 and 90-100 was like 25%+ increase. So ppl with that gear were shitting on plebs without it (the grind to get that high was unbelievable)

They basically released a new tier worth of progression...but didn't release a new zone and level restrictions, imagine BG's in WoW were level 80's were fighting lvl 60's.

Yeah, I have a post in the Off-Topic discussion asking what others are playing (PvP wise) I'm kind of lost now that it's gone. Played WAR since release =/

    Indeed ):
  5. Ah, WAR. I shall miss it. I played from launch as many others did. I grow wistful at the memories of keep sackings and hour long duels with Warrior priests unable to damage my magnificent bulk.
Alas it is gone and until I am reincarnated in Eternal Crusade I satisfy my cravings for violence with Mechwarrior online, table top 40k and the odd bit of blood bowl. I hope that one day I will again come across my nemesis......Ultravalefor. Then there shall be a reckoning.

If this is a MMO wouldn't you be in third person view? Unless they go with a Skyrim point of view where you can be FPS or TPS.

If it's like Space Marine, then it's deep enough while still using a controller. Ever play Space Marine in high difficulty settings? It's most definitely not a button masher...

The problem is getting single player quality combat/feeling while being an MMO. Those things usually don't go hand in hand.

I loved War but Mythic and EA shot themselves in the foot a lot.Maybe if they spent the dev time and money on a ftp model instead of Wrath Of Heroes it might still be going.

They already said one's progression will be more horizontal than vertical, meaning no real raising in power for your character, but rather a capacity to change class on the fly like in PlanetSide2.

Inspirations come from Space Marine, Gears of War as certainly Planet Side 2, it's gonna be a MMOtps, don't wait for a MMOrpg : you'll be disappointed for sure.

No...! I loved that game! :(

So sad to see it go. I never played it much due to time constraints, but I absolutely loved every second of it! Why EA, why?!
