Do you agree or disagree with these mechanics? Wing-clipping is what happens when you shoot a JPA or Hawk mid-air and they fall to the ground like a rock. Personally, with the nerfs to jump classes, I feel as though this mechanic should be removed. It is just sad that I can cancel a Raptor's jump just by shooting him for a second. It is honestly unnecessary with the fragility of all of the jumpers. Thoughts?
I personally wouldn't remove it especially as far as hawks are concerned. Sure they are more squishy now but that won't impact a good hawk or JPA that much.
Hawks are encouraged to do bombing runs now, and getting clipped by 2 shots makes such an endeavour difficult.
I see it as more a risk vs reward. The grenades only do 100 damage and are very hard to land on the same spot twice unless you come to a complete halt.
3rd Option: Keep wing clip, remove smart pistols. (although personally I haven't used a smart pistol since alpha)
The Burning Wing antics of WoP still give me nervous flashbacks to this day. Orks have trouble defending their vehicles on the fly against the Eldar lawnmowers of destruction, I personally do not begripe their increase in difficulty to pull them off even if only for a little bit now.
The wing clip is only a serious problem for hawks. JPA classes are rarely in the air long enough to be clipped. Hawk's supreme mobility needs to be countered somehow, so wing clip mechanics should stay.
