Point being, theres no "in between" fights, its an Eternal Crusade. There will be no rest and no respite for anyone who is actually logged in cause shit will be happening all the time. If you arent dealing with constant player activity from the opposing 3 races you will be staving off the nids. This "in between" will only be imposed by the player himself, cause otherwise it will be non-existent since there will be no lull in action.
Yes i understand that, and lorewise you are correct. So i agree. Its just that i want to play this game because i like the universe, the looks of it, the stories of honor and horror, the architecture, the design of armors, the weapons, the things that this universe is built from. I am not so into first person shooters, and highstresslevel and dying and competing constantly. If this game was announced as first person, i wouldnt even play it. If this game offers only fighting, then i would play call of duty or battlefield now insted of being excited about a game that comes out in two years. I am pretty average, and i would guess that most rpg entusiasts are like me, they like a little slower pace, with other stuff to do than just shooting other players in the head or slicing them in half with a powersword. You must remember it is a rpgmmo, not actionshooter, they are creating. So if this game offers nothing more than pvp action and loadout choice, then there are a lot of players that will move over to games that offers more. I know it in my heart that there will be places to socialize in this game. And in fluff, even space marines relax with meditations, sparring, physical training and comeraderie. They eat together, they have meetings briefings and debriefings together. They have interaction with non space marines, and like to read books and talk philosophy. They like to sit and discuss proper battletactics. They like to drink beer and fight. All this, i have read, from different books, about different chapters. Let us do this in a common area....
They do all these things in the said books out of actual combat (or at least in the ones ive read, though i seriously doubt it differs in any other book), but not gonna drive the point further. We will just have to see what the devs say on the matter, they havent voiced themselves on this matter as of yet.
i know shittons of people who WONT play this because its a 3rd person--both people who never RP and people who are HARDCORE roleplayers. also--seriously? space marines do not communicate with non-humans unless they are killing them, or in some book that is the exception and would never happen in the midst of a war like this. THERE IS ONLY WAR! what do you not get? space marines dont drink beer unless they are space wolves. they dont discuss battle tactics unless its about the war at hand, or the battle at hand, and is about real things they are considering. philosophy? sure, there might be a little of that in the rhino or thunderhawk on the way, but have you read the damned schedules they have? seriously--where are you getting this bullshit. C.S. Gotto?
if there is a hub, it should allow EVERYBODY THERE to kill EVERYBODY ELSE--friendly fire is on, which allows trolling, yes, but suck it up. thats 40k. people are going to just fucking randomly kill you because they feel like it.
Outside the guild ships, I am sure there will be areas you can use as "Social" hubs. They may not be designated or set up purely for it.
Hate to break this to you but it is more a third person shooter with rpg elements thrown in. If you dont like that, fine, but dont say the devs have to change this or that to make the game they arent designing.
IMHO, the only "hubs" realistically should be the battle barges, craftworlds, etc. As they're travelling through the Warp from warzone to warzone.
