The devs have stated that the only way an Ork Boy will be limited is in their equipment progression. They'll be just as strong as the starter of any other race, but they won't be able to progress very far beyond the starting point.
As a future Ork player, I'm not really worried. Trying to organize the F2P players will be like herding cats but I think it fits with the Orks lore. You'll have a core of paying Ork players (Nobz?) who try and unleash the F2P Green Tide at certain objectives and hope for the best. As long as the paying Ork players are equal to classes from other factions, I think we'll be fine. I'm more worried about the size of the Space Marine population at release. CSM, Eldar, and Orks might have to ally with each other just to keep the SM zerg at bay.
general what i understand is that f2p will be the orcs boys, if they just be choppa or shoot boyz only i don't now, they might be able to play any other of the classes that have boys. the ones who bought the gam can play boys too if they want but they'll have access to something f2ps don't which is the nob, a much bigger and tougher orc. Now they also mention that in a 1v1 a tactical marine will most likely win in a range fight against a boy, but if the boy gets into melee it will most likely be the boy who wins. now nob will be more on level with all the other paying players, but hes still and orc and there strong point is melee, soo a melee nob, will probably be absolute devastating in melee, and so and so in range, (Unless is like a range specif nob) basically i'm seeing it as orc boy will have a smaller health pool then a spaceman or nob, maybe even eldar, and the main factor determine if they live or die, is how well they can get into melee with there enemy. There not a a hug disadvantageous at the moments, if the game play videos our anything to go on soo far. also i belive they said you could by individual races in the cash shop for those who dont buy the full game
You'd think so, but I've had them prove me wrong time and time again. And sometimes they do prove me right, but not nearly as often.
You'd think if someone had interest enough to download a game they'd do more than start team killing for shits. Not to say there won't be griefers, just that they'll most likely be the minority.
I was referring to F2P being brainless dolts. Although a surprising amount of them do tend to be smurfs or trolls.
So was I. I think the OP was concerned about F2P's being lone wolves, griefers, or just generally clueless.
All of Planetside 2 is F2P. It's not like all the factions are filled with griefing assholes. It works out pretty well actually
