Orks aren't really the purely bayonet type though. Sure theyd have em but only because who doesn't love a good spikey bit. They are more likey to take their 60 pound blocky pistol and bash you over the head with it causing severe blunt force trama
Quit being slow damnit, what I'm saying is that due to models with bayonets we may likely get a rifle bash/stab animation set post launch >:C
Thats not what I want though! I get what your saying I'm just saying what I want! And yes I know I will never get it and I accept that. I'm not making any demands here.
Because the faction as a whole is designed for melee range combat. Obviously, they'd need to be superior at it than other factions, if they were equal in melee terms, they'd simply be destroyed because their guns are so innacurrate in anything but melee range, but they're also equal in melee, so they'll be easily killed in melee range by Assaults or gunned down on the charge forward.
Lore wise Ork weapons are imbued with Waaagh power making them equivalent or stronger to any weapon of the opponent they fight.
I just like the idea of an ork boy beating a space marine in full power armor to death with what is basically a lead pipe and will enjoy myself greatly.
Hard to tell right now ^^ But keep in mind, IF this becomes true than Ork Ranged weapons will loose out against similiar Imperial/chaos/eldar weapons. Don't know if thats a change i would be willing to do. We will have to see how it plays out, but i guess it will be the same akà Knife = Knuckle
At medium and long ranges, Ork ranged weapons WILL lose against other factions' weapons, because they're supposed to be used at close range, notice the lack of accuracy, and similiarity to the Stormbolter in terms of function.
Short Range is also where the Eldar should shine, according to the developers (while LSM / CSM should be medium range) As said, i can't really tell until they get tested in live ^^ But im hyped for that moment
