Technically in my fanlore: The Sons of Guilliman were wiped out shortly after they withdrew from Armageddon, having received news of an old traitor of their chapter that they wanted to stop. However it was a trap and with the heavy damage they already took during the 3rd War of Armageddon they were entirely wiped out except a handful SoG which served the Deathwatch at the time. Sirus being an Apothecary went to the High Lords of Terra with whomever was still alive of his chapter and they re-founded the Sons of Guilliman, building the chapter back up from scratch - he became Chapter Master as the oldest survivor, the others becoming the first captains. As for the derail.... You and derailing is like bread and butter - it just goes together
