I was honestly terrified, the execution from original DoW were more..."Natural", in their fictional way. Dow3 though, looks more like Warcraft rather than a DoW, for that particular instance...I hope.
Right? First thing I thought was "this is Warcraft 3 reskinned...." So funny how high the cinematic trailer got me, and how low the gameplay took me lol.
Yeah, maybe they're trying to appeal to a different crowd? New spin? Make it see more playful? Eh, I've no idea, it feels like a comic where they have 100 issues then the artist changes and now it feels completely different, even if the writing is the same. Uhh, on topic, hmmm, it sucks to do 90 degree turns and stop easy in real life while moving with any notable speed, why would it be easier 40k years from now...I know, staying on topic, I'd also like the game to be vr so I can swing more naturally and not look weird after clanging with any enemy, make it happen devs!
Its not the same as other games, its as simple as that. This game probably wouldn't run as well if they had strafing is my guess, in Space Marine I don't remember being locked out of strafing so I don't know if it was different but then again its been quite a while since I last played it.
Lol at the "This is not CoD" or "This is no arcade shooter" arguments. How does EC have any more depth gunplay wise than any arcade shooter. Besides I wish movement was as smooth as in most "arcade" shooters. The movement is clunky as fuck and that has nothing to do with the power armour. It's just sluggish and unprecise and not well done. I get they did want to give the controls some weight to them especially for SM/CSM but it's just bad. And as @Nobb_of_Waaagh said they can roll around like athletes but can't easily turn or stop or need ages to recover from the slightest fall? That's some bullshit there. Besides it's not even only SM and CSM, even Eldar who are meant to be agile feel clunky. I've been critisinging the bad movement schemes since I've been playing and it's one if not the biggest issue the game has, but apparently it's not regarded an issue and not being worked on at all. Probably partly due to you fanboys defending it with brainfarts like "It's not CoD deal with it".
Cover system alone makes for more depth. But its a question of general mechanics here. Strafing like you're a god damn crab is not intended, therefore not supported.
