Well, you could limit those kinda scenarios from happening by restricting who can access said loot and how long its available for. What about a lootsystem like this: each time you perform a feat or something else that triggers loot it gets put into the 'shoppingcart'section as if it would an online webshop. Only after the match is done you can 'go to checkout' and receive loot. You could tinker around with this, using different versions: strict version: abandoning team before match is officially over: sorry, nothing. tier-ed loot version: you loot a bolter, BUT if you also manage to win the match it's bolter+1 (mod), if you lose, just the bolter. That way you wont have morons running all over the place all blind on loot AND you encourage the team to win cos better lewt. personally, I like the competitive concept where you also race your own teammates to snatch better loot. Causes drama, but its also more exciting, frustrating at times, etc. I'm not much for the everyone's a winner approach.
According to the game's store page on Steam, "Early Access Alpha pricing is at a 20% discount. Beta will be 10% discount" The game is currently on sale for $39.99 or $40. The game is still being advertised as Early Access Alpha right now. Since it's launching this week, I think they just skipped "Beta" altogether. But anyway, if the game is on sale at a 20% discount now, then that means the full price will be $50, not $60. Otherwise, someone at bE needs remedial math.
I think its more of an emergency contingency plan just in case they are forced to go F2P. Until that happens it's more of a "keep it fresh" feature.
I'll tell you my answer based on nothing but the title...if this game pulls some F2P heresy...I'm out...and I'm sure I'm not the only one...
