I saw a recent thread on this, but I was wondering if we could get official reasons as to maybe why the Blood Ravens Chapter might not be included 1) Relic owns the chapter 2) There are other chapters that players probably want to see more that havent been included in games. 3) Making them unique, or probably being released when a new (if) DoW gets released to coincide with one another? What are some other offical reasons we might not see the Blood Ravens?
I think the "first founding" issue is the main reason for now. After all, you don't see the Black Templars or any other chapters from later foundings as available at launch either.
I'd say for right now it is two main reasons. The Blood Ravens are fighting their own little civil war right now and we don't know if a DoW 3 is actually progressing meaning they might be otherwise occupied at this time. Don't know about the licensing either, if that is an issue or not. Just theories, maybe it is iust because they just haven't been picked yet. Lot of famous chapters out there.
I think we would quicker see bE make their own sub-faction than use another Devs creation. I wouldnt mind that at all personally, i mean even if Relic never made another 40k game they still have permanently left their mark on the franchise with their custom Chapter, so why wouldnt another company want to leave a similar mark with their own creation?
As stated before yes its mostly atm because the pure fact that they are not a First Founding Chapter at all and not much information is given about them except from the DoW2 series. Also another factor was the narrative design at the time hates the blood ravens faction so he didn't want them ruining his lore
Well if we're using the civil war thing as a reason why they can't be bothered to show up-- Why are the Blood Angels here?
Biggiest reason no one really gives a fuck about the Ravens, and the Angels are a much more loved faction so thats the biggiest reason. All factions have their own shit going on with the chaos happening, Chaos is doing a Crusade, Eldar are just running around being Eldar, Orks are just fighting under a new boss. The Blood ravnes comin in is just using a weak chapter for the sake of trying to revive it after DoW series. And also they gotta deal with legal shit probly for using the Ravens outside the DoW series its easier to use the First Foundings for
