why Orks? We seem inferior in everyway.

@RageScreama Other way around. You stack Health against marines because most of their stuff bypasses toughness. You stack Toughness against Eldar because the pen of most of their weapons save power swords is piss poor.

  2. This thread.... you know that there are people out there that enjoy the orks? Most of the time i have no problem healing as dok, even with that huge dok bomb (most LSM dont even care for them). Ace dakka is a awesome range weapon and if i go melee i take the e-choppa, i like that thing.

But OP seems to hate everything doesnt matter what faction or part of the game.. new bladerunner inc? :D
  3. I enjoy the Orks as well, but that's because A: There is no Imperial Guard and B: The Orks are the last "Fun" faction after the squats downfall.
That doesn't change the Fact that the deck seems to be a bit stacked. Yes, you can be successful, but this is an uphill Battle imho and you can't begrudge People commenting on this

While i may complain a little, I do greatly enjoy playing Orks. If only to prove that Even with all the downsides, bugs and gubbinz. Teamwork is what wins games. I was in a game last night on Olypsis (I think? The sunny sandy one.) We were outnumbered. But, the four of us DLB made the difference. They capped nothing. Though that's not to say we did all the work, far from it. But when ever they pushed and one of us was there, we commicated and pushed back harder.

I think there's a steeper learning curve for playing Xenos. As an Ork player, i expect to die alot. (More when i use the Kannon.) I can't really speak for Eldar players though, as i generally only Striking Scorpion. I'm not sure some SM players do expect to die alot, then when they do, they don't have the mindset for a "Learning by dying" like Orks do, and for example, the snaffu with the Rokkit. Instead of learning what works and what doesn't against rokkits, of understanding dodge roll and not tanking it because you can't, they claim things are OP. What's going to be next? The Kannon? The Shoota? The Knuckles?

    Ranty, sorry.

I don't know guys, maybe i'm just some lucky git but most games i have played as Ork were victories.

Not saying it's because of me, i have no problem to admit that i'm not a very good player, no biggie, but yeah, i have very rarely seen the defeat screen as Ork when for example i just keep being destroyed with my Eldar dude. (a very, very dire avenger)

I main Orks, couple weeks ago I decided I wanted to get my Chaos character to level 6. I'm not sure WHY necessarily but playing Chaos feels 100% easier than playing Orks. It's bloody mind boggling.

ya we just steamrolled an ork team as eldar by just taking and holding the 3 points at the start, also I didn't die once and it's not like I didn't get into combat because I got into 2v1's pretty much a lot but I don't think the orks are completely unbalanced, it's just that their ranged weapons aren't like the "super accurate fast headshotting boltors" of the mon'keigh which means that even though they have more RoF they lack accuracy which is something crucial against eldar I guess.
  8. Ork weapons are never meant to be as accurate as a bolter. It would ruin the dakka feeling for me. But like i said Ace Dakka is a pretty good weapon and accurate(for orks).

Their base weaponry does so much that stacking health only works vs the grav gun. It doesn't really increase life vsbolters or stormbolters. It doesnt help vs plasma. We cant stack enough to make a difference ever since they took away the bonus 50 health and gave us the reduced amount. So know I stack toughness because regardless of powerweapons they will still kill in the same number of hits but at least I reduce bolter, stormbolter, vengence bolter, chainsword, knife, and heavy bolter damage.

Looking at my charts actually, stacking the Grim Trophy by itself gives an extra shot against all bolt weapons, plasma gun, plasma cannon (think I need to update the new numbers though), all Eldar weapons, knife, chainaxe, and powersword.

I mean, you're certainly also increasing TTK with red armour (it has the +15 armour don't forget) but you're paying just over twice the price as the Grim Trophy. In terms of bargains, the Trophy is where it's at.
