Because I don't pick my faction on how easy it makes me. Not that it doesn't frustrate the living hell out of me more often than not. But Orks simply rock that's why Plus it's the nicest community I have ever encountered. They keep me going.
Don't worry more LSM weapons coming this spring 2017! (Probably) But seriously, this only ork unique that's even worth anything is the electrified dakka slugga. Everything else is so abysmally worthless. I don't consider the Ace Dakka or Rodeo Shoota unique because they're just an AC and Storm Bolter that can't be modded, a.k.a. a shitty shitty versions of other factions' weapons. While they are good, unique implies an improved weapon, not a shitty hand me down
@Fissiccisst I've not played Chaos AC since recoil nerf of that and the Ace (Though it was the damage of the AC that was the problem and still is. Three shots and your dead. The Ace Dakka takes five to six (If you hit, because they spread out quite a lot after the first shot.) I can't comment on the AC recoil as I've not used one since, not because they got nerfed I've just not had the time. But three shots still kill you.
I still kill with three shots from ace dakka. Recoil isnt that bad. Overheating faster sucks though because it makes defending against mindless zerging harder.
Reason #3: orks are fun to play with. If you have basic knowledge of the Warhammer 40k universe, you know orks come with shitty weaponry making much noise and only dealing damage because orks believe so. The orks are a green tide and their power come from how many they are on a battlefield, not from their proficiency to be skilled or even well stuffed warriors.
@RageScreama I beleive that's with headshots. With the range i was using it at last night- From the back wall of one of the inner quadguns in Harkus in to the back wall of B. The HB managed to hit me more times than i did him. Edit. I also didn't get suppressed at that range at least. @Nasher True yet not true. Our weapons in this game work based on LSM whining, not Ork player feedback. Like they nerfed the rokkit, but -still- haven't fixed the Klaw or the Kannon and we still have two uniques that work exactly like their stock counterparts with no unique function at all. The Napalm Kannon Deffgun works exactly like the Normal Kannon, aside from being poor AV. One would assume it does fire or heat damage, it does not.
It is fun indeed to hack some fool with a pirate hat on your head while happily screaming "er we go, er we go!!". No denying that.
I also want to state that I think all new players should definitely run with Orks because LSM play their characters like Orks and PuG ork groups can handle their own, even new ones since pretty much everything is a high RoF spray and pray weapon, Docs patch people up pretty quickly, and Ork melee is decent on its own, and downright awesome ina great big horde of boyz. The more you get in a single area doing either or, the better off everyone else is because A.) Inaccurate as it may be, a wall of Dakka is by far the most potent firepower in the game right now. You get 5 regular orks all firing in the same direction and that shit will kill pretty much everything because they just blanket entire areas with bullets. They've got some range to them as well. B.) Also don't forget that Choppas can deal pretty decent damage to vehicles. I know the argument is pretty much immediately "can't do that to Eldar!"... But a lot of tanks are unmanned these days. Orks should probably just mob up on one and chop it up. It's actually pretty effective. C.) Zipp Shoota makes a Slugga Boy into even more Dakka. D.) Electrified Knuckles is the best class of "knife" in the game. It's basically T2, which make it and a Shoota viable... And if you've been paying attention: E.) This pretty much means that there difference between these two classes is pretty slim. One's just better at a role (ranged vs melee) than the other, but isn't completely helpless with either, which is exactly why new players should roll Orks, theyd find it a much easier experience to learn the game even if the items are Byzantine. Just make sure everyone's got a zip shoota, electo nuckles, or a choppa at least and they'll be able to kill anything. Add some variety and you got a mob that can handle pretty much anything. Power claw one one, shield on another, big shoota for suppression, krak grenades on a few, ect. So 5 boyz on point shooting away. 5 choppa boyz on anti-tank and brawling duty and you've got yourself a game. Edit: Fuck you phone for all the typos and autocorrectz.
You should see my post about Garrison V2.0. All of thoses posts were done on the phone. Inc links to pictures and formatting. Like anything else you just get good at it over time. My sausage waggling thumbs hurt though.
