Yuup. Though I swear this is a bug and these attacks are sometimes simply not registering at all. How much armour must that enemy have to eat a Heavy attack to the back from an axe and the bar barely moved? I've noticed it with Dire Avenger too, where I've pumped a whole magazine into my enemy and knocked no more than a couple of pixel-widths off their armour bar.
I'll be downloading Discord later tonight and making an "Axe User Safe Space" so we can grieve and console each other.

The only thing good about axes/mauls back then was the fact that we didnt have that utterly ridiculous super long haymaker wind up for fast attacks like we have now.
Why use any other melee weapon when you can use a sword based weapon and move faster then sprinting players, Evade fire and simply dash between cover with no downtime. Melee is currently completely broken. Its both terrible and overpowered at the same time and needs a complete rework.
I really feel it should be stressed again: That took 4 bolter shots on a full health/90%(minus the dbash) shield CSM TA.
I miss the old E.Choppa. It had just the right amount of delay and reach to hit someone that rolled out after your first hit. Fast attack wasn't losing to knives, and you could "gasp" sometimes catch up running players. Now? Hahaha no. Use a Sword or get ready to get more kills with your pistol.
