But then what's the point of the loot box? The loot box is at best redundant, at worst screwing players over augmentations that actually increase weapon/armor effectiveness. It doesn't matter how small it increases, as long as it changes the stats, they should not be handed out in a RNG manner. Loot box seems like they just decided to add them in few hours before launch just because. Judging by all the place holder items without actual reskin from loot boxes. It seems originally developers did want to use loot box to give out reskin items, but then they ran out of time to actually make the art works.
Loot box prices are cheaper than the weapon unlock prices. (ie you get 10k weapons from 5k boxes, and so on) It's a choice between spending more to get the weapon you want/need now and spending less but having to put up with getting things when you get them.
Because in WoW when I get a fucking drop, it's actually usefully. Here, it's shifting through shit I have zero plans on using.
Hey at least we are not supposed to have duplicates right?Stares at 2 lascannons ...that are the same thing!
One of the reasons why we don't have a "block" button like many close combat games employ is that Games Workshop said that "Space Marines don't block". Because of this we are stuck with the RPS nonsense instead of the holy trinity of light attack, heavy attack, block. My favorite part of this is that space marines won't block with their arms, but are totally cool with carrying around a several hundred kilo shield.
Last twitch mentioned that there will be more specific boxes to buy like class-specific or perhaps even "mod" boxes. It's a little less random, at least. ..hopefully.
Obviously it's just that much more manly. Extra irony being, of course, that in the Deathwatch RPG it's utterly essential and integral to any melee-centric Marine that they upgrade the Parry skill. For all that blocking they..uh.. don't do.
Eh I still hate lootboxes. They should have been for cosmetics/weapon skins only. Not mods :/. I thought mods were going to be rewards for completing activities in the game.
