Why is this game not enjoyable?

I'm sorry, I could be more clear on that. I would say around 3 years is when I expect this game to start living up to that potential. I see a lot of "this next patch needs to be good or I'm leaving" and I don't think those people are going to be staying around. It could of course continue to not be good the entire time, which is why I'm not emotionally invested.

It really is a different development scale between different styles of games. You can be mad about it or not, those are just some of the factors that played into why this particular development got hurt.

I should put this in the context of "For a 40k shooter." I don't want it in an RTS, and I've been waiting for a 40k skin that has more than one army at a time without it being space marine/chaos space marine. It's nice everyone is so excited for Space Hulk: Deathwing, but it doesn't have what I want. If it does it for you that's great.

No, it's just an expansion of what feeds the problems of the game. I know there are people who aren't familiar with how it works but are perhaps interested in getting a layman's explanation.

This is about why the game floundered and what it says about capability, not that it's going to live up to some idealized dream. It's part of informed consumer practices, and honestly something I should have pushed more on back when I first saw the game wasn't going to make it (the Miguel days). There was a lot of hype about all the things going to be in, and I definitely could have lent some information to cool that down. As it is now I'm providing a basic understanding of why the game launched as it did (so very basic), what it actually is (bad?), and what's going to happen (devoid of personal financial gain).

The easiest way to sum this up is I'm a happy consumer because I understood what I was buying. You are not a happy consumer because you did not get what you expected. I am trying to help you be a happy consumer by sharing information so you can make informed decisions.

Titanfall 2 is a great recent example of refreshing the brand. Slapping 2 on something really does work. If this EC does die, there's a lot of work that's already gone into it, and that does have value when looking at what the next game to develop is. It's neither a going to/not going to happen thing. It's just a thing at this point.

Ofc it does, I do not lock myself in the FPS multiplayer ghetto tho I like this genre a lot.

Could you elaborate on it, I'm not sure what you mean here.

Thanks for your patronising tone but I know precisely what happened to EC, it's not a secret anymore and hasn't been one for a long time, you don't need to explain that to me.

Speaking of 'happy consumers' - not only did I not get what I expected, we didn't get what we were promised in official advertising materials (Ico) - that's a huge difference, don't forget that. After Miguel's era dream fiasco I already reduced my scope of expectations to a bare minimum...and even this wasn't provided.

No, you cannot help me be a happy customer cos it's not your job and you don't have such powers, the only one that can\could have done that is BHVR.

  3. Hey guys, I havn't been around for some time, so I decided to bring you this exciting news that as of 14 November 2016, peak number of players in EC was: 342 ...

Also good luck and take care, I am out of here since I don't like funerals.

No one should lock themself in the shooter genre. For 40k though I want something shooter. I do have a personal list of things (kitted dire avenger, ravenwing bike, fallen, and killa kans) I want to personally play as. I recognize it's a diverse list and I'm unlikely to see them all in one game, but EC might come close (do not take that as an endorsement).

Wider audience. Yes I know you know what happened, but some of the people are new to the forums, a recap for them. I'm sorry you felt I was patronizing, it's probably far less than it sounds unless someone is particulary thin skinned (I have people in mind, you are not one of them).

Everyone can tell what they don't like about the game. The reasons behind that aren't as intuitive, so I'm trying to flesh them out so that people can know what's going on if they don't follow the industry. There's a lot going on in the world, and if it's something pertinent to me that I don't understand, I'll look to others who do.

You may note that I mentioned that infographic that got put up. I have no idea how that got made so close to launch with so much disconnect from what was actually there. I fully understand you didn't get what you wanted. I'm not here to argue about that.

Let me backtrack. A lot of people bought EC on the hype that the dev team generated. I did not. I bought this game because I was happy with where it was for $40, and I saw some of what could come of it. I could have spoken up more and as a peer provide the wider community with information to make informed decisions. That's what I'm doing here, information to the wider community to make informed decisions. Whether they stay with the game or burn it or whatever, they have the information available to them. The actual decision still rests with the consumer, and it's upon them to make their own decisions however they want.

Now I will say something that is actually offensive (as opposed to everything else, which either appears offensive or has a humourous undertone)-I think it's entitled to expect Bhvr to make you happy. Bhvr is a company, and the dev team are people trying to earn a wage to eat. They do not and will never have your best interests at heart. The only person who can make you happy is you, and that starts with making informed decisions about what you spend your money and time on. I have provided a point of view that encapsulates some of the wider issues within EC and what comes of it, but it is entirely upon the consumer to make informed decisions for themselves and not buy products that they will not enjoy.

An RPG? Never going to happen unless you played as an inquisitor.

Space Marines aren't fans of talking it out.
  7. Well derp.

Deathwatch have individual agents that have to obtain and travel independently and make friends and connections so It could work with marines (at least they used to...)

Unfortunately, it seems we are a long way off getting a non-Space Marine 40K game. Got to milk them cash cows.
  10. It is in fact possible, check this out: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/deathwatch/

it is really good RPG setting and Sm are the characters you play, I don't see why this could not be brought to the level of PC gaming.
