L2P? Yes ofc AP 80. Orks toughness 150 +28% damge reduction+ 6% for the captain banner, so real damage about 22, 250HP+120 armour 370 points, need about 18 bullets to kill, at 3 shots per seconds 6 seconds, do some strafe and evades and most hits to the air. This in close range, large range is even worst. NICE WEAPON HERE. Everything is pretty tough against bolter. Caos n Orks have toughness and eldar have speed to counter shitty bolters.
"pretty tough" just not acceptable typical marine logic. What do you want exactly? More ap more dmg higher rate of fire or just an I win button? you already have one, its call a vengeance stormbolter.
That's interesting because the ASC basically relies entirely on headshots to deal lethal damage. As to the other responses below you, the Bolter's DPS is great. It's that people are using it like an assault rifle, which it's not. It's a battle rifle. Step back son.
sry my english vocabulary is limited, i tried to explain with an expression that maybe doesnt have logic.- I m not asking for a buff, just saying that bolter isnt so magnifient. As Demetri said, their role is the second line. Best as defending your fellows being meleed.
Really shouldn't be like this to be honest. Not a fan of making headshots and consistency with headshots the only way to really stay competitive, bodyshots should deal sufficient damage that you don't have to rely on headshots unless you're trying to 2v1 or 3v1. It's a matter of inclusion to be honest, I can pull off these headshots but the issue is that a lot of pubbies can't and it's extremely frustrating watching 4 marines lose to one Ork as they aren't using their bolter to its fullest potential. That's not a balance issue, it's just that our standard weapon isn't easy enough to use for people who have very little skill or devote very little time to EC and until EC allows me to play a gamemode where everyone only has one life and I can take advantage of skill over the enemy numbers, I'm always going to be let down by the LSM playerbase. Pretty much. Now the issue only becomes that the game runs like shit for a lot of people and they misunderstand that as a balance issue. I've been getting really good frames recently and this is the result, all with the bolter, all in one life as a veteran.
Every game that lacks dedicated GvG matchmakers (and the community to support them) is going to do that to you unfortunately. But newbies are gonna newb. Get recruiting and train them up And just to piggy back a confirmation: Bolter is an absolute beast. When I play solo it's my go-to generalist weapon. It needs more mods (like everything) but it has serious reach and few downsides. Grab that Drum Mag and enjoy it before it gets a LP or reload time boost. I miss the LSM extended barrel when I play CSM but it's terrible against a shield rush so I tend to pack plasma anyway. And ASC is garbage. Eldar tactical depth for their cap class is about 3-6 times weaker than LSM/CSM. Need DMR, penetration and other ASC mods in the new year. Stat.
The bolter is amazing and I would kill for something Eldar side that was even remotely as good as it. Aside from being arguably the most versatile weapon in the game, you will win majority of your engagements from pretty much all ranges if you have the right mods and can aim even remotely well. I even have a build with the 2x scope on it for the larger map. You will dominate from mid range and do well in close and long range. This is 100% a learn to play issue. I would trade the TLASC any day for a bolter equivalent. It may not be the best against Eldar but you have the storm bolter for that and the obscenely OP vengeance storm bolter which 100 % invalidates Eldar armor and toughness and kills everyone else almost as quick, it's close first version storm bolter bullshit level. For anyone that wasn't around for that it was basically a handheld exterminus. There was nothing else used.
Bolter seems fine to me. I personally would prefer something with higher RoF and lower damage, but besides that it's guchi.
