Why I Fear The "f2p Ork Boyz" Model Could Fail.

  1. That idea could possibly work with some sort of implementation lore-wise. Just have little explosions on the map that flash depending on where the fighting is, and the explosions get bigger with relative size. Though I don't want it to be for every fight, because I'd like be able to stealth behind enemy lines with a few battle brothers and kill enemies from the rear without being detected on the larger map.
  2. It is not assumed that everyone interested in this game played TT. In fact, I would go as far as to say the assumption is to cater to the PS2 - style crowd, those who may have heard of 40k but never even thought about picking up a TT figurine. TT players are too few and far in between in comparison to be the main focus of the game.

About the population I'm really hoping once this game is officially out there, a lot of players will come join that never even heard about warhammer or this game I still see people on other game sites asking the most obvious questions and I hope word spreads more and more until even the most hardcore WoW player gives it a try and if it's a good game it'll do the rest.
And the new people won't know what it's all about so they might like the look and sound of Eldar, CSM or Orks more than SM.
What I'm also trying to say is I have a feeling a lot of Warhammer Gamers like SM from DoW, Space marine THQ etc. the other races never get dedicated games except for fire warrior but even that had SM as multiplayer and in the campaign they were really strong. I also think a lot of SM players thatll play on release will lateron want to switch try other things maybe like it more and stick with them.

I think the f2ork idea is quite brilliant and attractive:
    1) Orks will get the needed numbers
    2) Orks will die in thousands
    3) "Parent" type players will get to lead/advise hordes of Boyz
    4) Boyz will quickly realize that alone they are quite weak, so how about we follow this Mega Nob?
    Tureil and Mngwa like this.
  5. i mean, the devs have also stated that an ork boy will be able to beat an assault marine in close combat...im fine with that, but that should basically never happen if the players are both equally experienced/skilled. the ork player should have to be a damn good player and a good bit better to beat another melee class in melee.

I have a feeling the F2P Boyz will run in get slaughtered by every other race and then these F2P player will leave due to being pwned left and right.

Working together and using strategies comes later and I'm afraid that F2P Boyz will quit way before they get to that stage due to frustration.

Hence we will have every faction vs one over populated faction: poster boys Space Marines :p that is just my opinion.

Well this seems to be common opinion from people that haven't been paying attention to devs talking about f2waagh.

And what makes you come to the conclusion that i have not been paying attention to the Devs?

just because I am new on the forums does not mean I have not been following this game since the beginning.

when the Devs did a poll for which faction will have higher Pop it was Space Marine on top and Ork lower than Eldars, that it self proves that the poster boys (SM) will outnumber every one else Tyranids or no Tyranids.

but then again like I said that is just my opinion.

Sorry. Edited my quote. My issue wasn't with SM population.

If people aren't smart enough too see that's a B2P game with a chance too discover the game without pay anythings, i don't want them in a game where we have to use our brain for strategy.
The F2P orks are like a Demo nothing more
