I think LSM (and to some extent, MEQ) is pretty general 40k terminology, not tabletop? Other than that, I would have considered myself the ultimate TT-nerd if I had known what that last one is.
Before reading through the forum i hadn't heard of any of these abbreviation. I read the books and play video games but never had the chance to play tabletop.
i don't play tabletop but i know the meaning, and if someone don't know google give the translation almost instant.
I don't know why anyone would use MEQ outside of the tabletop. In the lore necron warriors aren't very much like space marines at all, nor are crisis suits. FRFSRF is pretty army specific. Nobody who doesn't field or play against IG on a regular basis has any reason knowing (or using) it. Probably the worst offender I know of is LRBT (Leman Russ Battle Tank), which is just completely unnecessary. I can say or type 'Leman Russ' faster than the abbreviation.
Aww...Geeks vs Nerds...truly a battle where both sides are the loser. As long as you 'computer jocks' are happy to type out phrases such as Free to Play and Massively Multiplayer Online in full every time you use them I'm sure the other wargaming folks will be happy to do the same with their terminology.
It would be nice to implement certain mechanics in order to benefit the green tide efffect. Have a WaaAAgh buff if you have more than 50 orks in the vicinity of idk..30 meters.. or trukks go faster and turn red if they are fully loaded with boyz. Something that makes the f2player want to group up and charge.
Yes, this can work, but you still need to explain this. Also, it's been a while since I thouched the WH40k lore, so I might mess some facts, but I'm pretty sure that Orkish psykers(Weirdboyz) will increase their potency if they have other orks around them. But yet again, a good and detailed(and maybe even forced) tutorial is needed here.
Yes I agree with the tutorial and this game will allow you to "summon" heroes for your factions during battle and one of them is the weirdboy, I can only assume that for you to summon such hero you would need a lot of boyz and resources.
i think that actually concentrating them a majority of the time will be easy enough, because if what i have heard is correct, you basically wont be able to capture points or do anything by yourself your gonna need a small group, so them going off alone will only happen a couple of times before they get the idea. and also, i was once the F2P player, and in PS2 when they highlighted where all the fights where by making this huge light show on the map saying " come here and fight" i think that will work. but also, ork boyz running around being idiots is basic ork nature, so i see no problem.
Maybe they could do a kind of spore trail in the air to help Ork players find the nearest gathering of Orks. Orks can still be seen as the big swarmers if the other factions like the space marines are spread thinly enough in places. Lots of direction will help with the Orks so as to make them more focused on specific objectives compared another faction who may have many objectives.
