I wasn't aware that being blatantly superior to other factions was a defining trait in what makes a faction "fun and unique" but I think I'm starting to understand the Eldar player's mindset now. Especially the psychological projection.
After more seat time I find eldar aren't as OP as some claim. But there are 2 changes that I would make. 1. Reduce dmg from grav tank contact. Even the slightest brush at almost any speed kills anything but a maxxed out ork. 2. Reduce fire dragon move speed. Melta gun melta bomb and eldar speed makes them just stupid OP tank hunters. They just merry go round a tank and you can't hit em unless you have 2 or 3 ppl. Seem like small fixes but these are actually 2 of the biggest exploits that eldar use to shut out teams. With just these 2 changes I could deal with the rest.
Apologies for late response, no Wi-Fi on the bus, I'm gonna call it here since we are getting no where since we are both biased for our sides but I would have responded the same to space marines if you had any idea what they were like when Eldar launched, power fist were game breaking for a change lol, either way the balance is up to the devs and they have the stats to make the decisions so all we can do is wait and see.
Probably because Eldar speed is not noticable enough. Come back when Eldar can outrun autolock or the RMB spam. Or for that matter, Eldar accuracy compared to heavy bolters.
Indeed, if you want a lore accurate Eldar. Then speed needs to go way up, accuracy (especially on the move) needs to skyrocket, and damage should go up. Trade off would be that they die in 1-2 Bolter rounds. P.S. For more fluff accuracy, Swooping Hawks would fly almost forever, Banshees would have like 6 stamina and much faster rolls, and Scorpions would have Mandiblasters... Or you could just buff LSM and see how they go before nerfing Eldar anymore.
You can never argue with primitives giving them "obvious" evidence. You have much to learn Best answer they will give you is "you dont see it cause you are arrogant Eldar", it will never be "oh sorry, I dont see the big picture, I shall change my opinion so it makes sense". They are going aganist the flow so let them be crushed by it, they will stay blind and fall even deeper or learn how it is.
No, your biased thinking, does not aply to me. What im trying to say, is that we cannot translate the tabletop to the game. So the original poster cant expect to translate toughtness 3 or 4 to HP, the same way the above examples are not translated because of balance. Same thing that works on the tabletop can be under or overpowered in a game.
Considering this post is coming from someone who calls raw weapon stats as a "lie" I think I'll have a hearty chuckle at the idea that you're calling me biased.
Has it occurred to you that Eldar may not be OP, but SM's might be UP specifically towards the Eldar? Just asking.
Just saying but, when the devs say that they will give to LSM a new weapon instead of significant nerf to others faction, it's only means one thing: -The metric proved the problem isn't so much the eldars but the LSM. Don't forget guys, that they said a long time ago that they don't want eldars to be only for elite players. I don't want to do math here , and other people will surely do it way better than me, but like I said in an other post with ork HP and amor for exemple at rank 3 and a nerf to 150hp for eldars(and rank3 so 80 toughness). IT would literaly take twice longer for an Eldar to kill in melee an ork, than ork to kill an Eldar using both a chainsword with charged attack (actualy it would be even more than twice). So to balance it without fcking with the dmg model of the weapons , it would require to make the Eldar attack twice faster to achieve the same TTK. And that simply mean eldars would always win with the initative (And I am pretty sure it's exactely what they want to avoid). It would be ultra punishing for bad players , while a very good one will make LSM cry endlessly.
