The Gods represent more than that, they represent the repressed rage, lust, thirst and disgust with the imperium of man. At least with the Gods, you have a better chance of rising based on how far you indulge in the darker aspects of humanity. Where in the Imperium, anyone other than a space marine believes the emperor is a God which is a flat out lie. Attrition is so high on the side of the loyalists that even the smallest fit of rage is a moment of truth and being oneself. Imagine if you will, that things have gotten so bad for mankind that if you even give in to lust, you could be purged for heresy by the corrupt and insane. When you join the traitor legions, you know exactly where you stand and your odds of survival and it's all based on your strength and will to survive.
I follow Undivided Chaos as the ultimate source of power, not because I want to be a puppet of any Chaos God in particular, but because I think that power is the ultimate weapon of will and freedom, and I want to take it by any virtuous or corrupted means. Any God will always try to claim you as his pet because such is their nature as well as the great game's but staying neutral in that Game and use every kind of resource, can get you even higher and I mean higher in power than Daemon Princes. Point is to maintain your personal will and interest higher than the insanity of Chaos and then you are truly free by any chains, real or spiritual. CHAOS IS THE ANSWER TO ALL QUESTIONS!!!
Basically rolls down to ego and belief that you're not only better than everyone else, but also better than Chaos gods itself? He thinks that Chaos in the very first place is the reason why Imperium is as bad as is now. No, Humanity is the reason why Imperium is such a crap. Humanity created (mostly) the Ruinous Powers. Chaos is acting like Chaos, which means Chaotic and Anarchistic. In this whole anarchy though is a real order that comes from the necessity of corruption and destruction. I think my corrections answear all your questions. We worshippers of chaos believe in the true power of the galaxy. We do not cling to an asshole that fucked everything up. We dont worship a powerless corpse and neither do we allow to be commanded around by fat aristocrats who cannot even lead their dog , so much for whole worlds. Chaos is rewarding to those who follow it. The imperium's only offering is your sacrifice. Where is the Imperium's so called ethic? When was the last time you read about anything other than Space Marines. Do you know the actions of the Inquisition , or your boreucratic goverment or the way the people live in the Hive Worlds and Forge Worlds? Chaos is demanding , yes but it is rewarding to those of skill and ambition and also its a divine entity , not a council of old fuckers who use a fake god as their mask to rule the masses as they see fit.
