Why Does Anyone Join Chaos, Anyways?

Discussion in 'Off-Topic Discussions' started by JcDent, Oct 19, 2013.

  1. The False Emperor placed shackles upon our minds and hearts and we fought for a future unworthy of mankind rightful place in the universe, and we bred hatred in our hearts as the glory and honor that was rightfully ours, taken by lapdogs who were not worthy of the titles bestowed upon them.

The True Gods set us free, they broke the chains of servitude and we unleashed our vengeance upon a thousand worlds showing the galaxy what it meant to be a Angel of Death.

    We are Free
    We are Legion
    We are Chaos

Personally in terms of the Traitor Legions my favorites are NOT the ones who are devoted to Chaos. I like the more pragmatic approach they have in terms of using Chaos as a tool and not as an object of worship.

If I may I'd like to give my own opinion if my fellow heretics have no problem with that:

We who serve them are not unwilling, we know what befalls us if we join and we accept that without care. Cultists and the regular CSM can achieve much because they (to my perspective) have more devotion even than some Sisters have, and thats hard to believe but true. Now some join only because they were forced into it and see their own mortality staring them dead in the face.

Those who have utter belief in the Ruinous Powers have survived time and time again, some who do what they love most such as killing or defiling are granted power and that happens to encompass all aspects of CSM and Traitor Guard. Then we have The Warp, a power beyond mortal comprehension that has granted us so many wonderous gifts that those who are touched by it understand the true powers of the Dark Gods.

In battle, when even a champion takes the head of a worthy opponent, we more than likely get powers, or we will become a babbling beast of the warp, or nothing at all. Is that worth the risk? Yes, and why you may ask? Because those of Chaos understand that with risks also come many grand rewards, while the "Emperor" merely looks on in his husk, never caring about his people. Yet the Imperium blindly follows the False Emperor, which he truly never asked for during the crusades.....

That's right, he never wanted his Imperium to ever EVER be considered a god or religion, yet here he is now worshiped like one. So why would a soul follow such a being that has no love for his people when the Dark Powers of The Four can grant you such gifts and even, dare I say, Daemonhood?

    Again, just my personal opinion.

A thing that irritates me to no end is when people say, "Why would anyone turn to Chaos?", thus implying, "Don't they know they're the bad guys?"
It's not quite as simple as that. Many rebelled, but not all actually worship the Ruinous Powers.

The most important point, however, is that everyone thinks they're right in a war. The nine Legions that turned against the Emperor did so for their own unique reasons. Some became disgusted by the Great Crusade, seeing the growing Imperium as a tyranny they no longer wished to help build. Some were fed up with the mistreatment and judgement from their cousins in the other Legions, tired of being told whom and where to fight and then being questioned and reprimanded on the manner in which they did it. Some fled to Horus's side because they didn't have much of a choice, it was that or complete destruction. And yes, some turned to the Chaos Gods.
  8. Why turn to chaos you say? CHAOS IS THE ONLY TRUE ANSWER! Most people don't realize this or there just to stubborn to say this but most people not all wanna play out as a evil character at one point in there life just to see what it is like come some people have dark sides and wanna releave there stress being evil. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
  9. If you look closely, the loyalist beliefs (Imperial truth and the High Council of Terra ruling with all their laws and bureacracies) come very close to fascism.
Now get don't get me wrong, I'm not going on the rascism tour. Nor do I approve of extremist views, this is just an analogy made by a friend of mine that I am simply passing on to you.

    But look at it.
You got one charismatic dude as image, backed by some high noblemen and there's the inquisition and thinking anything else than the high nobles tell you to think is heresy, punishable by death.

I'll take chaos any day I guess, in this universe we're all damned to go to hell, better go on my own terms rather than living like a blind sheep on the way to the shis kebab place.
