At no point was I angry. And my apology or lack of one doesn't make a difference. Especially when the guy quit the match before I was out of combat to type anything. Seriously guys the anecdote wasn't the subject of the thread. I mean if you gugs want a stick figure diagram of what happened then I'll make one later. I just wanna hear the reasons people are so hung up or focused on vets. Also I noticed orks and eldar seem to care waaaaay less about their vets than the marine factions.
well vet are in my eye just a target with the sign that come with it. I never use my vet since i can do about the same with my normal loadout minus all the enemies shooting at me, at least they are distrac with the vet next to me
Reasons- 1.) People took alot of time and effort to get a Vet, make the loadout, unlock what's in it, and make it viable. 2.) After all that work, they only get one spawn in a match, and usually it's only spawned when they really think it's needed. 3.) Someone killed them who's ON THEIR OWN TEAM, because the person who killed them is being careless 90% of time. It's not often someone get's TK'ed and it's completely reasonable. It's usually the TKer dropping the ball. Sucks when you have to watch your back for enemies AND allies. 4.) TKing a force multiplier not only pisses off the person you TK'ed, but you literally robbed your team of an asset stronger than a normal class that may have helped them win. And yes, even though you won the match, doesn't mean it was obvious at the point you TK'ed the guy. 5.) Worse, you TK'ed him with a one shot weapon, that has a charge time, and doesn't give him a downed state. So no chance of revival, and you used a weapon that you literally had to charge for a second or two, then release it and hit an ally. Which means, you charged the weapon, saw (unless you're a bad player) that you may have friendlies in the crossfire, and decided to fire anyways. You chose risk vs. reward, and only cared about your own reward be it a kill or just surviving yourself. 6.) Now you're on the forums, confused why someone would completely be validated by you killing their special single spawn stronger loadout. The reason people may be flaming your thread, is because it takes a tiny shred of common sense and human decency/understanding to realize why the guy is pissed. Even my little sister could figure this one out when she was like eight years old. "If I break someone else's toy because I wasn't paying attention, they will be sad/upset."
Well again I'm not confused as to why people are flaming the thread...I just don't care. I literally just wanna hear reasons for vet love.
Its a Lore thing... Some people like to roleplay their vets. So they get emotionally attached to the Vet.
I don't know. I never use mine. If I did and I got TKed, I don't think I'd get mad enough to say anything in game chat. When I see one, I treat them like an ancient artifact and try to protect them with my life. The game gets boring, so it became a bit of a mini game for me. I get 100 imagination points when we end the match and the vet I bonded with is still alive. Moral of the story: BE, you need to add stuff. I'm bored.
I kinda get that way as well on my kommando. Although orks explode and die in random ways a lot so maybe thats what makes it less painful for orks.
The one life per match thing seems a bit rude, especially as someone could accidently drive over you on one side. I would sooner it be a 5minute cooldown or something. I dont play my vets because Im mean and dont want the other side to get 300 for a kill......
I think the "you only get to use this once per game, even though you spend a great deal of time and effort to get it and you'll probably die to the stupidest shit" system needs to be changed.
Nay... Teamkill with certain weapons is incredibly easy. It's not done on purpose: you aim, charge you shot and by the time you release a JPA land on your target, or a concealed mate jumps from behind a corner. It just happens, in particular in random squads that do not coordinate with VOIP. And people must learn to deal with it.
