Ever since I read the Libre Chaotica when it was first released I've had a thing for Nurgle, the way it was written in that book... If I can ever afford to get back into the table top game, Nurgle is where my loyalties will lay. And in this game, if possible, Nurgle is where my loyalties will stand! Joyous will be my spreading of Nurgle's Pestilence across the battle field!
I fight because the Imperium is perhaps the prime example of a repressive empire, on a galactic scale. I reject all such authorities that derive their power from the subjugation, torture, brainwashing, and wholesale slaughter of it's own peoples. I crave vengeance upon the Emperor, whose megalomania has created a galaxy more full of suffering than ever, and I crave justice for the trillions, human and xenos alike, who have been harmed by the actions of this unjust institution.
I fight because the Imperium is rotten and festering from within. It rules humanity with an iron fist of Tyranny. Mankind will wither and fade into oblivion if it does not learn to embrace change and continues to turn a blind eye to the primordial truth.
I fight because i wish to liberate humanity from the Imperium's tyranny, with the Tyrant "Emperor" dead we will create a grand Chaos Empire, ushering in an age of (relative) peace and stability. The Iron Warriors will make Terra the mightiest fortress in the Galaxy, and all the legions will fight for new territory in a massive expansionist crusade that will make the Great Crusade paled in comparison. We will smash the myriad Xenos races with the power of the Chaos Legions and the blessings of the gods. Fear us, Xenos and Loyalist alike, for we are legion
Began as a rather arbitrary choice, I always chose the villains in games, and in DoW they just looked plain epic and SIIIINDRI! was way more awesome than the Spess Marheen "heroes." Then however, I grew up, and reasoning became a factor. I don't like static, boring characters, I prefer the anti-hero model with deep shades of grey. And upon familiarizing myself with the lore, I support Chaos over the Imperium anyday. The Emperor, despite his brilliance is still a tyrant, and his Great Crusade was an injustice the likes of which never seen before. How many systems were crushed, conquered or wiped from existence simply because they didn't believe in his Imperial Truth or valued their independence. There is no one vision that can lead everyone, no matter how intelligent its creator, and for him to impose his will on the stars makes him the most glorious villain in the 40k universe. Chaos, however, allows for multiple perspectives, even if they are in conflict with one another. Especially if they are in conflict with one another. Think of the great cultures of the past that brought about world altering changes, Ancient Greece, Renaissance Italy, the German Principalities. They were in constant competition with eachother, bloody rivalries forging new views and technologies. Without competition, without chaos, we are doomed to stagnation and decline. The current state of the Imperium was always an inevitability, in his attempt to flatten the stars he was dooming mankind to slow decline, desiring an Empire of Slaves to his will, all the Hersey has done is expedite its rot. Most damningly though, was the lies and hypocrisy entwined into his vision, trusting no-one he forged an ideology denying the existence of the gods, limiting the path of evolution, and the annihilation of competitive species. His vision was tainted from the start, and must be shattered in the ashes of his crumbling empire.
The last news about the Founder crap and everything actually drove my chapter more closer to Malice\Malal. Let's see where this will lead us.
Being a Chaos Undivided worshipper only makes the Renegade God more powerful. HAIL MALAL THE RENEGADE GOD! >:]
