    I don't fight for Chaos... I fight for myself!
  2. I fight for chaos because...
    Wait...
    Or do I?

    You know, I actually really like the idea of close combat, I even like the idea of specializing in it. What I don't like however is the idea of being utterly beholden to it or to put it in another way, to over-specialize in it.

    When I was growing up, I used to actually really favour Khorne. The idea of Khorne Berzerkers I thought was incredibly badass, but then I realised there wasn't that much more to them. I also really liked Khorne Daemons for the same reason.

    Then I 'discovered' Slaanesh, and I liked what he represented more when I actually thought about it (not just the decadence part, but more to with how just selfish he wants you to be which is certainly freeing considering our daily limits lol). More than anything though; I like how he doesn't really have any profound weaknesses in his focus. My minds eye conjures the idea of a mighty Keeper of Secrets blasting something with spells, stripping away their reason and forcing them to stumble into its clawed form. Alternatively, they come too just in time to fight really well, but the Keeper's martial might (which is very considerable, even able to fight Bloodthirsters with something close to equality) whips their heads from their shoulders before they have time to blink. Or perhaps the Keeper just extends a hand and the would-be champion takes it, damning itself to eternity as another devotee of Slaanesh.

    slaanesh's noise marines demand some serious respect. they can liquify armor/bone/brains with their discord blasters.
  5. yeah...
    You could do that...
    or you could just...
    you know...
    Stab 'em with a sharp stick?

    Yup there are even times when keeper's take those who interest them and no one knows what happens to them. Maybe they convert them? Spend an eternity of "happy" time? Or maybe simply eat them? No one knows.

    Personally at first I was quite interested in tzeentch actually since I normally like mage stuff in my games and you know the whole chaos and daemon theme I found awesome. (I love D&D warlocks as well.! infernal pact ftw!) Personally I had no interest in slaanesh since back then since I thought slaanesh was only about pleasure orgies/drugs etc.

    Until I delved into the lore mor and came out with slaanesh being my favourite and nurgle close to second. I think its kinda sad that majority of the time they show khorne in his basic aspect. I mean he is war personified I would dread to face a khorne commander who goes crazy with strategy.

    Plus even in the chaos daemon dex it says that khorne daemons lie ALOT to get people to do what they want. So they do manipulate people to further bloodshed.

    Heck there is even stories of khorne daemons who march in complete formation and in utter silence until they reach the battle.

    I am not too much of a fan with D&D, but I loved Neverwinter Nights 2. The reason why I loved it more than anything was the warlock implementation of Word of Change. I hear that in d&d it turns someone else into a chicken or something, but for those who don't know in the game it transformed your warlock into a Horned Devil. When you couple it with mods that make Hideous Blow basically a free action it became incredibly fun to stomp around as a Demon (which it's time extended with the more levels you gain, becoming essentially a permanent transformation), laying waste to everything that moved, slowing things with chilling tentacles, shaped blasts etc, etc. Now that I think about it, it was probably like what I always envisioned ascending to Daemon Prince would be all about. I didn't really go for its Prestige classes though.

    I'd like to see more Khorne explorations beyond just kill maim burn as well. I'd like to see someone that's a meticulous general but when it finally comes time for him to get stuck in himself, he just goes totally hatchet wielding monster.

    Many many reasons:
    -the inquisition sucks;
    -after reading the chaos space marine wiki page i decided that chaos was the best:
    "Released from the confines of the need to follow orders and pursue missions prescribed by others"
    "Others, now free to explore the temptations of the galaxy all around them, reach out in all direction to widen their mental horizons and experiences";
    and also for hundreds of reason that you posted here!

  9. Read The Betrayer, Angron, and to be honest anything else that just came out on the World Eater's legion and their more notable members. Also, some of the old stories also show that there is far more to the Blood God then the artifice of death. There is a book about the Iron Warriors assaulting a planet to capture a gene-seed storage facility that provides some insights that you may like. Also, the old story about Slaanesh giving a gift to Khorne is beautiful in its simplicity and real-world truth.

    Well, I do like how there is an entire side of honour to Khorne that is sadly not really explored outside of Black Library (for example; Dawn of War) as I think it is really quite an important aspect for Khorne's character. Khorne may not care whence the blood comes from, but he definitely cares about skulls, and he values them far more than blood, and he cares very much about whose skull it is and how it was cut from a body. He abhors weakness and cowardice. He will not reward a psychotic for taking the skull of a child (he will glory in the bloodshed though) but yeah, it's an important point that seems to get forgotten quite a bit.
