Why are they saying LSM need a buff?

  1. There's also the whole thing where if you play Sorcerer once you have a god mark and 2 spells, you really can't afford anything else. Pistol, no grenades, no better armor.
  2. Having the same weapon be better for one faction than it is for another isn't balance. Quite the opposite.
  3. Then we need God marks ;) could be a different pattern bolter
  4. God marks come with built-in disadvantages, the war gear you get to my knowledge does not.

Whatever the problem you think is there, getting better versions of the same weapons is not an answer. Well not a good one.
  5. We have no wargear matching the god marks. Iron halo isn't really equipable to a non vet load out per its cost and doesn't add much anyhow. Only iron halo is special rest of our war gear is the same generic stuff every faction gets

LSM are 50% of the games population and they only win 38% of their matches. Those numbers are what they are basing the buff information on. Go watch todays podcast for stat numbers.

They need a buff because from all the data analysis they did based on facts and hard evidence showed that no faction performance was due to people playing certain factions being better, and that even when taking maps into account, LSM overall were underperforming. They have stats about being a new vs old player, stats from people playing 80%+ the same faction vs those that play all of them, etc.

They don't make everything public because the forum would become a clusterfuck of info that would take pages upon pages to read with so many variables taken into account.

I never buy the whole: marines have bad players and eldar are some master gamer and that kind of crap.

When we started the alpha I played chaos exclusively vs marine and we consistently won like 3 out of 4 matches or more and believe me I'm honest enough to admit we did not meaningfully played any better.

Then somehow when a lot of ork players made it from chaos to ork all of a sudden we were "bad" and didn't know how to play and needed to git gud. Not accounting for the fact that we did play the overpowered side enough to know that it really was indeed op, and that ork was indeed really UP (in the first phases).

Right now we have a couple of balance issues that I'd summarize as such:

[1] Fortresses map in favor of attackers since the change to vehicles (they will change timer and number of lives, basically from now on its just adjusting some values until we reach something more balanced, already confirmed)

[2]Eldars using unintended features like power that should not stack but actually do and the many many melee problem that are due to whatever technical reason I'm not qualified to comment on (have seen people talking about netcoding, Njord made a very good video about how eldar can invulnerably quite a melee without ever becoming out of stamina because even while walking they can dodge, etc.)

[3]Rock paper scissors not always working properly (because of faction specific recovery times, and attack speed making certain weapons/attack type combination uncounterable, ie, not clanging or not doing any damage even when you hit target with a proper attack with a succesful blow)

[4] Map balance on deadlock mode between attack and defense aka zedek+maggon (Brent said a solution was being worked on)

[5] actual faction balance which we really can't go to crazy about right now because of the above problems, unless we only take maps like pegasus/blackbolt/medusa/olipsis/torias into the equation, which honestly kind of makes sense, and when you do, thats when you start to realise LSM really have it hard, and they likely segment their analysis in such a way that when they do say LSM are UP, they have very good reasons to say so.

Now if we really could stop with the rants of pretending our faction has better players overall and end up admitting it is only fair that everyone wants to have a good time with a balanced game and that evidence shows we have two OP and two UP factions. I'm leveling my ork first right now, but I also have a chaos guy and I intend on playing every single faction this game has to offer and I'm really not willing to lose half or three quarter of the fun because of imbalances. I want a fair game no matter who I play, I don't want easy and hard mode factions.

I am mainly a Chaos player but sometimes I enjoy playing a loyalist. And honestly never saw a faction that whines so much, attacks their own teammates, rages over losing objectives. And they are salty losers too.

There should be a statistic on all this too because that's the same feeling I get. A LOT of plasma cannons annihilating teammates, even when they're busy executing the guy the PC is shooting at.

There were stats on it, the TK stats.

Turns out Eldar are top dogs in that, fancy that. Speaking of..

What's it like calling out our faction for friendly fire but maining the faction with the most TK's? That's gotta burn. Anyways, don't answer that, just keep blaming those 3 empty paste jars next to you on LSM, captain sticky lips.
