Why are so many pretending to enjoy this game?

  1. I did not mean Ignorant in a Derogatory way I meant "lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about something in particular." . Everything I wrote was from the Lexicanum, multiple wiki's and what was said by the developers of both IP's on various websites. I referenced all my own knowledge with the actual information before writing it all. You can google it if you have time. I only knew any of this because I do game testing and I write Sci Fi / Horror.
  2. The Eldar/Protoss comparison is completely my opinion based on the lore available. Not trying to say that is fact.

Lexicanum is a WH40k lore site, so I never thought to look there. Wikipedia is the first place I looked and it offered little information on the subject. 1d4chan is more of a humor site so I never expect to find real info there, so I didn't check. I hadn't learned of the WH40k Wiki site yet. WoWhead has so much information that trying to find a single post about flying in Legion made less than a year ago takes quite a while. WoWpedia I thought was a lore site at the time and only recently found out it has some info on non-lore stuff. Games Workshop has been incredibly tight-lipped to the point that the only source I was ever given for Jes Goodwin's comments on the near-completion of plastic Sisters of Battle in 2006 was a reference to him having said it at a Games Day panel that was never recorded for upload to the Internet nor transcribed for the same purpose. Blizzard's WoW developers have barely said a whisper on their official forums for years and I don't particularly want to trawl through years of Twitter posts and conversations for references to things I had no reason to even think they'd ever commented on. And my Google skills are bad because the words I use to describe something differ significantly enough from the words Google needs to find what I'm looking for that unless it offers the correct suggestion while I'm typing, I'm not likely to find it.

...Didn't you just finish criticizing me for stating my opinion on the Eldar/Protoss comparison as though my opinion were irrelevant?

The honeymoon is over. The game needs elements to be fixed or removed, immediately.

I fully predict massive play desertion within a week without something being done about faction balances and vehicles/melta. Stop screwing with the RTC/Vanity crud, focus on re-doing melee, TTK/respawn, extra objectives/things to do that may help/hinder aside from capping points because the game mode is getting old fast, and of course.... melee, vehicles, melta, and factions.

Note: according to Steamcharts, the player turnout in the game at the primetime of each day in the last week has decreased by HALF. People have been trying itr, waiting for the next patch, seeing if the patch worked, then dropping it again. This evening there was a high of 850 players online. just over a week ago there were almost 1900. Without something to fix... everything.... it's only going to get worse.

IMO, now is not the time to purse the ephemeral open-world goal. Fix what the game is. make it a badass lobby shooter, prove you can do it, then convince someone you're ready to do the original goal.

And now, let me direct everyone again to ZoranTheBear's video. My agnst does not represent Zoran, he is a much smarter and more qualified individual to speak on the game.

You know what I just realized, they actually REMOVED all of the instances of an open-air capture point. I've almost forgotten them by now.

    C on Blackbolt.

    C on Ollipsis.

The only two relatively open points, and they've been removed for so long now I actually have to work to bring images of them up. And I miss them. I do not miss tug of war Ollipsis though. Maggon is enough of a soul crushing map.

Maybe if they just made better maps. That might solve a number of issues (like vehicle/melta and TTK/respawn+run).

Or maybe spawning on squad leads? Takes double the time, maybe? Something. Anything. Even when I finish a match at the top of the chart, my team won, all is "good" you'd think... I just feel angry. Because the match was nothing but cheesemelting the enemy vehicles. Cheese-swishing my sword through dire avengers. Cheese plasma-ing. Meanwhile eldar vehicles are playing pinball, just bouncing off walls and tank traps running over everything in the most spectacularly derpy manner. Swooping hawks are just sitting there, 40 feet in the air, pelting you with perfect accuracy and almost the same damage as a dire avenger. On my end, auto aim is giving me uncanny reflexes and accuracy with my cheesespreader 9000, yet (as if being balanced by the Derp Gods) of a teammate should step between me and the target, that auto aim shall lock upon that friends back like a cat on a microscopic mark on the wall. Derp win, derp fail.

Space Cheese, release the Cheesen and spread the Glorious Cheese of the Emperor!

  9. "WH40k ended up ripping off Starcraft in retaliation or something around a decade later. Zerg don't look like Tyranids, Tyranids look like Zerg."

This was criticized because it was incorrect. You basically made the comparison to them in reverse so I am sure you can see why it appears Blizzard continued to copy Warhammer past the fantasy setting.

"And Protoss are so different from anything in WH40k that calling them a ripoff is ludicrous."

I would only criticize the terminology Ludicrous when your own argument is based around aesthetics.

" The visual aesthetic of Protoss is completely different from Eldar, which are literally just space elves with advanced technology. A Protoss and an Eldar are nothing alike in terms of looks or aesthetics beyond a sense of grace and elegance, which is not unique to anything."

The Lore if you read it (try to acquire a Original SC manual blizzard tossed tons of lore into those books back then like 20 some pages) minus the visuals is quite similar. This added lore Ended for all Activision Blizzard games when Activision became the controlling Party of the Merger in 2007-2008.

Like I said for protoss this is simply my opinion and many others feel the same. calling it ludicrous is a bit much and deserved criticism. Your opinion that they are not the same is just fine as long as you don't try to corner the legitimate opinion market. Maybe they did not try to copy WH40k for protoss and just really wanted a faction of truly ancient psionic warriors pure of mind and powered by psychically tuned Crystals that once had a civil war resulting in a light and dark faction who also rely on hiding in warp/void space?

The Void is a dark, cold manifestation of space,[1] separate from the material universe.[2] Starcraft Wiki

The Immaterium (also referred to as the Empyrean, the Aether, the Sea of Souls, the Realm of Chaos, Warpspace or most commonly, the Warp) is an alternate dimension of purely psychic energy that echoes and underlies the familiar four dimensions of the material universe. WH40K Wiki

Same concept, simply more words to describe it. WH40k Is long winded. Sc is simplified Hence the larger following. Not to mention North American IP Vs British IP (Which explains alot on the merchandising/Media of the IP ).
