Why are Smart Pistols still a thing?

    I feel like it's a legitimate question.

After patch 1.3 and durability changes, Smart Pistol started dealing some significant damage, to the point where on a lot of loadouts, losing your armor means that you can die to 1 mag of Smart Pistol that you can't dodge in any way.

So that's why I'm making this thread - is there a legitimate reason why this weapon is still in the game? Why do we need a weapon that takes absolutely no skill to use, while also dealing significant damage?

Because they actually make Jump Assaults, Raptors, Storm boys more fun its awesome to lock on and zoom around them in a corkscrew spiral just to drive my choppa right into the back of some Ultrasmurfs skull hehehe

    also.....

Well... actually the only way to NOT miss with a smart pistol is to jump over them with a JPA and unload. You can dodge most of the shots by rolling or freaking crouching, the shots will go right over your head. The auto lock is too high, I only use it with JPA as of right now and it doesn't even work on Orks at ground level cuz they're too short so... it's a niche weapon and is actually very easy to not get hit by it if you know how it works.
  6. It shouldn't be in.
In other games you get banned for using an aimbot, and here you have it accessible on your starting loadouts :p

.... I .... will just say I want them gone. since forever.

Yeap, all auto aim/lock features, period, should have been removed long ago.

Honeslty I think there is some sense in aliasing an autolockon frature, but I'd prefer it to on be a Looking feature... as in, you still need to turn your mouth to follow the player. Basicall like if they added virtual reality to the game, and you were simply turning your head to follow your enemies movement to the right but your body via your heads are still facing a different direction and need to turn them. Probably not a simple way to do this...

Isn't that the aim assist they use in console games, but dialed up to 11?
