I was toying with the idea of suggesting Iron Hands too. I mean not so much a-holes as such but their ultimate desire to be almost completely cybernetic? - removing the flesh that makes them 'human' because the "the flesh is weak", kinda makes a mockery of them being Space Marines in the first place doesn't it?
I don't know about that, he forced his own beliefs on his brother legions, which is even more messed up since four of them were already beaten down by the Massacre and were in no position to say no or even negotiate since the Ultramarines had a lot more men than them. That's pretty assholish. I just wouldn' t say the most assholish.
Garviel, no argument is invalid, but just like your foolish Primarch you choose to rule out any ideas other than your own. Darthy, how else would you explain the presumption of oneself to be commander of any legion but his own? The only true commander of any Legion is it's own Primarch, Chapter Master, or the Holy Emperor himself. Also I would like to add that the Codex Astartes is not simply a set of guidelines as many chapters treat it. It is a complete doctrine detailing the every action of a space marines life, short of telling them how to piss it covers all aspects of their lives. Additionally on a more specific point, the limitation of all chapters to 1000 marines has crippled the ability of humanities warriors to comprehensively defend the galaxy against the massed enemies of the Imperium.
if you ignore to read extremely importantore on the ultramarines, and why guilliman created the codex, then yes your opinion is invalid, due to the fact you are not educated enough on the subject to have an opinion.
Remember the iron cage Dorn. I dare say you are foolish. Remember when the ultras had to save your skin.
I dont see that as asshole-ish, in fact i agree with them on that subject. I mean the Space Marines wouldnt have been created if normal, unaugmented humans were able to conquer the galaxy themselves, but they werent, so the Emperor created genetically engineered cyborg badasses who werent really classified as human anymore, but post-human. The Iron Hands just took that philosophy a step further, if humanity is weak without augmentations, then wouldnt post-humans (Space Marines) be weak if they didnt further augment themselves more than they already were? The flesh really IS weak compared to metal and the machine
A loyalist marine is very fun to troll, especially when they are as arrogant and as narcissistic as Dorn and his Fists. Many geneseed was lost to Chaos that day and the Chaos Gods had a big party because of it. Thanks, Big D!
