You mean after Dorn to the first verbal shots at Guilliman? Because Dorn called Guilliman a coward for not being there to defend the Palace, despite Ultramar being attacked by 2 Legions to keep the Ultramarines busy and out of the battle. He threw that in Guilliman's face simply because he didn't like the idea of the Codex. Kind of a dick move, basically telling his brother his own home is less important than the one he shares with their Father and he should have abandoned Ultramar and its people to slaughter by Chaos just to defend Terra. Guilliam shot back that Dorn was a traitor, since he apparently wanted to keep his large army when the UM, RG and WS (Salmanders also agreed to the Codex and Second Founding once Guilliman agreed that their remaining forces were too small to break down) were agreeing to break theirs down to prevent a future Heresy on that scale (the idea was that smaller forces going renegade would not be able to corrupt others, unlike the Legions where corruption could spread quickly through the massed ranks) which would have looked like setting up for a power grab. The Imperial Navy, at this point still a part of the Imperial Army and not yet a separate force in its own right, opened fire on the Fists' Cruiser Terrible Angel of their own accord.
hahahahahahahahaha. You think the Ultramarines are stuck up, and hide bound to the codex. Anyone ever heard of the Red scorpions.. They adhere to it even beyond the Ultramarines. That is why I love the arrogant bastards. Let me emphasize how fanatical they are, THEY FOLLOW EVERY LINE OF IT. They will also not work with any mutant, They despise even the smallest inpurity.
While i do realize that the Ultramarines do have their moments of redemption and actually prove themselves to actual badasses, the reputation of them recently has been soured. Thanks to the recent endeavors of Matt Ward and his god-awful fluff writing, the fact that every little 12 year old and their mother has at least an Ultramarines' tactical squad, and the fact that GW blatantly picks them as the favorite SM chapter over all others is sickening to say the least. Matt Ward even explicitly said that Ultras are superior to all other Space Marines (2nd Edition), inflating the XIII Legion's ego even further. Fluff writing on the Ultras has also succeeded in pissing off fans of other Chapters, since their Chapters get slagged off in the process. Black Templars and Space Wolves are described as stubborn, and independent (as if thats a bad thing), while basically being stated as "its okay though, since their presence in dwindling in number, we wont remember them anyway". TL;DR Ultramarines are getting a lot of shit for good reasons, but we want to see them improve, and we want to actually LIKE them as a chapter
