I haven't tried every single one of these fixes, but have attempted several of them with little-to-no improvment. My 'idle' FPS might have gone up a bit, but it's still impossible to fight when every time I get into an encounter my game locks-up for 1-2 full seconds or more. In a game this fast paced, that's a death-sentence - Every fucking time. That's why I call this game unplayable. Because every time I try to actually engage in the core gameplay I encounter a critical failure which destroys my ability to partake in said core gameplay.
Two, actually. And her damage was nerfed fairly quickly. Currently people who prefer playing Widowmaker are begging for buffs so that they won't select Widowmaker and be greeted by a chorus of their teammates telling them to switch to a useful character. Also when they stopped one of her animation cancels from happening they ruined the enjoyment of the character for a lot of people who played snipers a lot in tons of shooter games. Pharah was also capable of OHK those two heroes that Widowmaker could with a direct hit from her rocket launcher. She was also nerfed. I recall numerous cries on launch day of Eldar being completely OP.
The balance is a problem BECAUSE of the performance. It'd be hard enough to hit an Eldar with crisp, solid performance, but when you're constantly dropping into single-digit FPS and experiencing lock-ups it becomes impossible, and you get rekt because you can't defend yourself.
Fun story about changing the graphics settings. Having the game on High graphics makes it look beautiful. Having it on Medium makes it look bad. Having it on Low makes it hard to tell what things are when they're more than 20 meters away because the game world becomes a pixellated, blurry mess where you can't tell the difference between a Howling Banshee's white armor and a white streetlight when they're the same size on the screen. And being on low graphics with all the bells and whistles disabled along with no anti-aliasing still has framerate stuttering very frequently.
I didn't say every game had game-breaking bugs, just that they all have bugs (and countering an attempt to spout some bullshit). What's breaking it for you? If it's the 5-second freeze, try setting the game to high priority in Task Manager. If it's choppiness, try checking this out: http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/possible-fix-to-heavy-stuttering-or-low-fps.57951/ I can't tell you how many games I've played that had MASSIVELY SUCCESSFUL SUPER PERFECT launches where it failed on my system, repeatedly and utterly...and the first thing I do is troubleshoot, usually fixes it. Should we have to? No, I completely agree there, but when you deal with computer systems expect to have weird fucked up problems that you have to get around or requires a patch to fix. It's part of the territory and has been since the early 90's. I'm not defending their bugs, some of them are really shitty, but not everyone has that experience. What I am defending is that there are issues with many launches and that patience (especially during the first week of launch) is critical.
"This game runs like ass." Running an AMD based system, with their competitor's (Nvidia) GPU is not good. You're honestly better off keeping things all AMD, or just switching over to a superior Intel/ Nvidia combo. Otherwise, expect mediocre performance in most games you play. Secondly, yes, your rig is pretty borderline "slouch" right now.
Have non-Eldar considered abandoning the idea of precision fire and simply filling the general space the Eldar exists in with too many bullets for them to dodge?
What have you tried? If you want help we need more to go on. As Deadspectre said earlier, if you have an AMD card you may struggle but others with AMD cards have managed to make the game playable.
