It would be fine if it cost over a thousand lp so only a veterain could equip it and nothing else. Swooping hawks themselves anger me to no end, bunch of cowards who run at the first sign of danger and never comit to a fight.
It's a single RNG gun that is specifically tooled to mid ranged. Not everyone is running around with one of those... I know i'm not
Firstly, i'd like to clear up some misinformation certain people are spreading. 1. The weapon used here is the Hunter's Mark, not a standard weapon for the Hawk. It is a unique weapon from the 30k boxes for Eldar. It is fully moddable and in this video is using a Heavy Barrel (improves accuracy, increases vertical recoil) and a Textured Grip (reduces spread increase per shot). 2. In the garrison the Hunter's Mark deals 171 damage with a headshot to the low toughness dummies. This makes it a 2-3 headshot kill on any target in game. With that out of the way, i'd like to say that anyone defending this weapon in any shape or form, whether by claiming that I was using it well in the video, or by saying it has low mag size, or total ammo, etc. etc. needs to take a serious look at their bias, as this gun is irredeemably overpowered. It is my personal belief that it was a mistake on the developers part, and they simply forgot to change the rate of fire down from the standard 400 rpm of the Hawk's Talon, but I don't know this for fact. My solution would be simply to bring this weapon in line with the Stalker Bolter, reducing its rate of fire to 100 rpm, or even lower to 80 rpm. On top of this lowered rate of fire, reducing the magazine size as well may help to balance it. I honestly believe that this weapon and some of the other undeniably broken weapons, such as the Rites of Fire, are worthy of a hotfix to either temporarily disable them, or to balance them as soon as possible.
heavy bolters do 38 damage not 83... at a rate of fire of 600rpm so Hunters mark dps of 566.6667 vs Heavy Bolter dps of 380 ohhh also teh hb is realy inaccurate comparet to the hunters mark ... has more recoil and loses damage to dropoff sooner than the hunters mark too.... I mean sure until overheat you gonna do 2576 damage with it ... and the hunters mark only does 850 per reload... and 11400 total damage with the heavy bolter vs only 4250 on the swooping hawk... but thats why you are slower, cant reposition , cant avoid getting meleed to death, have a worse hitbox no melee or secondary weapons and have to pay more lp for equal upgrades to survivability. lets go with totaly balanced.
Well. I was not dropping games with eldar. But in not going to put up with this. Officially not playing eldar now.
