All the Primarchs are different. You can't say that "He is the best, blabla" Since i am a Son of Russ, ofc i'd like to say Leman Russ. But i can't!

I like something from all of the Primarch, but the most interesting(right now) is, i think, Alpharius and Omegon of the Alpha Legion. I havent read much about them, but the things i've heard and read, is very interesting.

And you talk about the Horus Heresy novells. I'm reading the first one at the moment. And i have to say this, its VERY good! I like it alot.

I agree: the first ones of the HH are of the best novels I've ever read!
  3. I can't get my hands on them, sadly...

Is that so? Are you reading much?

Before i started reading Warhammer 40k stuff. I read some books from a guy called Nick Perumov, i don't know the names in english(The books was in swedish) But they're about a necromancer called Fess, an extremly skilled warrior and magician.

But now, its 100% Warhammer for me, haha!

Really? Have you tried blacklibrary.com? I got them from a friend(borrowed)

It definitely wasn't the best I've read but I thought it was a very good read and I read year round pretty much. The problem is that it relies on you knowing 40k for it to really pack a punch. If you don't know the basic Horus Heresy story then you don't get that sense of futility.

I agree, but i've got some ppl at work that saw the book i was reading(the first novel) and was like, "oh, i want to read that, it seems to be very interesting" If the person likes fantasy, sci fi and alot of war. I think they will like it. But ofc, the books is for Warhammer fans.

I started reading on warhammer40k.wikia.com the timeline of the warhammer universe. That got me into it.

In my goth times years ago i read the books about Lestat de Lioncourt by Anne Rice like a freak. Nowadays you can say I'm practically reading only W40k and Horus Rising and False Gods were by my feelings on the same level as Gaunt's Ghosts; fantastic. But Murtag is right by needing background wisdom.

That probably explains why you ranked it so highly. I'm also a fan of that trilogy by Anne Rice but a broader background of reading might make you appreciate HH a little less. Not sure if that's good or bad haha

"good" literature doesn't really matter unless you're in academia. Enjoyment is the primary thing a book should be rated on in these cases. I noticed a lot of sloppy or cliche stuff in the first book but I still loved it.

Ok, nice! Yes, thats probably true!

But about "Who is the best Primarch" question..
Have you read the Space Wolves Omnibus books? those books made me love Leman Russ and his wolves even more than i did before.
