Who Is The Best Primarch?

That's extremely not true at all. Even in the first trilogy, Horus internally monologues about several of his brothers that think they should have been Warmaster over him.

The Lion even blatantly says the only reason Horus was chosen was because he was the first one found by the Emperor.

Guilliman wasn't even the greatest tactician in the Horus Heresy he was a statesman. The Lion, and to a certain extent Dorn and Perturabo hold that role. Yes Horus brought the most worlds to compliancy (then The Lion then Russ then Guilliman) but you have to remember he was also the first Primarch reunited with his legion so had a longer Crusade than anyone else.

As for combat, Horus himself internally monologues that in single combat he thinks he would be defeated by several of his brother. It was only the ruinous powers that allowed him to would the Emperor which was very parallel to Luther being able to would The Lion.

So is that why you guys drone on about first and what not?
  3. I am always mentioning Guilliman because of the Codex Astartes.
I think that he may be modest. Wounding the Emperor and his biggest importance in the story makes me think that he was the most powerful Primarch.
  4. And that's the reason why for me he is worst from loyal ones(even Russ). By creating CA he ultimatly broke Imperium's offensive force(wich was LA) leaving mankind in slowly decaing state, wich lead to 40k Imperium as we see it now.
  5. Reason of this all are the traitor legions who broken the Imperial might.
    Guilliman himself
said the Codex could not supplant brains but somehow whole Imperium is supporting it. I wish to have one Codex Astartes copy.
  6. Ofcourse Imperium supporting it - it was forcibly imposed with all who don't agree risking being labeled traitors. Thing is Empror created LA to do GC - where GC was only possible way for Imperium to advance Roboute by applying Codex stopped it - risk of traitors was always present in Imperium and Emperor knew it well and still created LA cause without taking risk Makind cannot advance. RG while meant best for Imperium did ill service for it. So he also did opposite to what Emperor intented.

Well, the Emperor made a mistake, and maybe more than one :) Otherwise he woudnt be on a Golden Throne for 10 000 years, eh? Creating someone as Curze wasnt the best call..Anyway, he himself proclaimed that he is only a human - mighty, psyker, genius, but only a human - only later he became a god due to his sacrifice (take Jesus for example) in the eyes of men :) Guilliman changed Legion structure, which was based on Emperors Principia Belicosa because it became not valid anymore. It came from practical, from fights on Calth and from his heroic advisers like sergeant Thiel (red helmets and such).

So its two sided coin. And only a fools follow Codex blindly - after the events on "Chapters due" even Marneus Calgar admitted that Ultras were following it too strict and the war against Honsou was won basically by not following Codex instead of following. As there are like 10 000 000 pages in it, some things are good, some things are bad.

Not all of them were ;)

Well yes, some changed when joined with their primarchs :) But base was the same through all the legions, no tactical squads as we know it today and such.

Nope The First were based on the Hexagrammaton. Or the 6 hosts. Before the Dark Angels were "The First," they were the only and had to deal with all aspects of war on their own to aid The Emperor in ending the Unification Wars. The Principia Belicosa was then later created as the other Legions were formed to focus their area of war. The Dark Angels however kept the 6 hosts which, once they were reunited with The Lion, became the 6 Wings: Deathwing Ravenwing Dreadwing Strormwing Firewing and Ironwing.
